Total disaster We had booked a table for 11 for a birthday surprise of a really good friend, we'd previously eaten here and it can sometimes be a bit hit and miss but we thought we would try again. We arrived at 10.30am to set up the table with birthday decorations and request that they chill a birthday cake for later on and was instantly told no cakes allowed as they provide those (shame they hadn’t told us before) then took us through to decorate the table, I looked at the table and it was filthy dirty and requested the mats be changed but then noticed everything was covered in crumbs so a man told the waitress to clean it all so we left with the area decorated. We arrived at the time booked to be told that was not our table despite all the decorations and they could not accommodate our booking! A very rude lady who said she was the manageress said that I had told the staff another name and decorated the wrong table and that was that, she was not helpful in any way during this process and handled it in an appalling way and when we said it was a total balls up she explained we were uneducated people! (she should be resolving the situation, not making it worse). She then spoke to the head chef who I’d seen earlier that morning and I walked through to the restaurant taking photos of the table in disbelief (they didn’t like that) but the next minute they are setting up more tables for the other booking and we were told we could now have the table. The food was OK apart from mine, of course, and ordering a fillet steak I got the overcooked tail, whereas two others had a proper cut of meat, but I decided not to complain. To top it off, only one person ordered a dessert and the rest coffees, and they had the cheek to bring the dessert out with candles on wishing the birthday person greetings! After ten minutes the person who ordered the dessert enquired about his order to be told it had been given to the birthday girl...he eventually was given another. If it had not been for the waiter, it would have been a total disaster. Shame on your management dealing with locals in such an appalling way which your business relies on...
Read moreOutstanding Paella in a Beautiful Marina Setting
El Nautic is a lovely Mediterranean restaurant located right in the marina of Oliva and it absolutely delivered. We had a fantastic dinner here with a well-balanced selection of starters and a perfectly made paella.
The waiter was incredibly helpful and guided us through the menu, making great recommendations. Everything we ordered was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The paella was exactly as it should be, with a bit of the socarrat (crispy bottom) that gives it that signature depth. Honestly, I couldn’t imagine it being done better.
We sat outside with a view of the water, the atmosphere was calm, elegant, and very relaxing. The service was excellent, the food top-notch, and even the chef came out briefly to greet guests. You can tell there's pride in what they do here.
If I lived nearby, I’d definitely become a regular. A truly wonderful evening, highly...
Read moreA very pleasant evening with friends, enjoying a mixture of classical and jazz guitar provided by the delightful Kike Pons. I felt that the kitchen got rather swamped by halfway through the evening with what looked like 100% table occupancy, so there was an overlong wait between courses. It's quite expensive, but show me a marina location where it isn't. The staff are friendly despite the pressures on them and the food was good and we'll presented. The surrounding view isn't the best for a marina location but it's acceptable and we'll laid out. Overall I have given four stars because I did feel that it was over priced, however I am aware that many restaurants are facing huge overheads in rates and licences, so it may not be their fault. For a special night out, I would certainly...
