Pizza & Restaurant Mandala — Restaurant in Oliva

Everyone, even the most careful and experienced diners occasionally make mistakes...and this, unfortunately, was one of them. Great location and recommended by a friend, the restaurant was packed at 8.00, so lots of people really like it here. The waiter was fine, friendly and professional, the wine by the glass was perfectly acceptable, but the food, in particular the pizza (and this is a pizza restaurant remember) was poor. The Mandala salad was OK, if a bit sweet, but the prosciutto pizza was truly dire. It came far too quickly, so was undercooked, lacking in cheese and tomato paste, and topped with the cheapest uncooked ham imaginable: horrible and a bit cynical when you think how much money this restaurant must make given its popularity and the great ham available in the region. As for the atmosphere, if people must bring their dogs into a restaurant (and I'm puzzled as to why that's necessary) they couild at least stop them all barking at each other for no other reason than the sheer pleasure of barking. We discovered Mandala about a year ago. Since then we have been coming twice a week, when we are in Spain, which is most of the year. The food is absolutely delicious, as well as affordable and what better than eating whilst looking at the Mediterranean Sea wash over beautiful white sand! I always mean to ask who does their interior design and especially with such clever use of lighting. Just the same as their sister, more upmarket, El Nautica restaurant, the use of lighting, frames and gives both venues, such atmospheric back drops! We love Mandala, for its food, views and the exemplary professionalism of the staff, that makes for an incredible business. We have no complaints whatsoever. We will look forward to continuing our bi-weekly, Mandala habit!...

Wonderfully scenic & relaxed location. Delicious and fresh food with warm, authentic service. My wife and I enjoyed the better part of an afternoon here: the views of the beach and looking down the coast were calming and hypnotic. The Caprese salad was one of the best we’ve ever had. The mixed salad was very fresh and quite good as well. My wife ordered pasta tagliatelle carbonara and absolutely loved it so much she wants to go back asap and order it again. We shared a Tiramisu for dessert and, again, this was one of the best we’ve ever had: super fresh, light, fluffy and flavorful. Highly recommended. We’d love to come back soon for another relaxing...
