Cantina Mariachi — Restaurant in Ondara

We go to this restaurant every time we are in the mall so we know the food and drink menu quite well. And, we have always had friendly service. Today, the waitress told us there were no margaritas when we requested them, then when asked for the drink menu, she said she was the menu and started listing off all the drinks. I'm certain this is due to her not wanting us to see the margaritas on the physical menu. We just ordered water. Then, from the food menu, we ordered an appetizer to start. She said she wanted the entire order at the same time and we told her we would prefer to start with the appetizer, then order the rest later. She insisted on getting the entire order together. I finally had no more patience and told her we would prefer to order the appetizer first. When it became a battle of wills, we just ordered the appetizer but within a minute or two, decided we didn't want to waste anymore time receiving bad service so we paid for our waters and left. We won't be returning. Sadly, many restaurants in the area think it's ok to treat foreign customers (who actually live here) badly, thinking we'll just take it. Maybe the young lady needs to know how the restaurant makes money and it isn't always off of the locals. How would you like to be treated this way when you are in a foreign country? I write bad reviews for every restaurant who abides this, while I make sure great restaurants are also noted. I also leave tips for good food and service. Yesterday I came here for dinner with my family. It was our 3d time eating here. We ordered nachos with beef and pork that hasn't seen any beef. The nachos costs 13 euros. As cheese they use only the cheap artificial cheese. My husband's beef burrito had mostly rice. Almost no meat. My quesadilla with chicken was so bad. Never again. On top of it I found a big piece of blue plastic inside of my quesadilla. I informed staff about it. I believe I should not have been charged for such dish. So we paid 55 euro, we left hungry and disappointed

Service was good and friendly, though we seemed to have to wait quite a long time for the food.

When it did arrive, the food from the lunch buffet option of 13,95€ for 3 courses seemed small portions of the main menu, but didn't mention that, so it was a little surprising, especially when the tacos arrived as the main meal and they were just 2 small ones. It says they'd be 3 on the menu!

The food was average and I'm not sure it's enough for us to want to return again, which is disappointing, because it's our first visit to a cantina mariachi in many years and we were looking forward to enjoying a good mexican lunch.
