Pans & Company — Restaurant in Ondara

Often I walked past and wonder why there is always a queue. It must be very popular I thought. My friend recommended this place for their fried chicken even though it's a fast food place for sandwiches. So we decided to try it out.

There are a good selections of items on the menu to choose from. We ordered a bucket of fried chicken, 3 French fries, a portion of finger mozzarella, and 3 soft drinks. We wanted a pull pork sandwich but we were told they have ran out of pull pork. The ordering process took about 7 mins, which was a long time. The reason is because there are too many options. E.g. bucket of fried chicken has 3 sizes, each has 3 different options. Sandwich has option to split in two halves, with each halves with different filling...etc. Now I understand why there is always a queue. While I understand options are good, but too many can do bad for a business.

We were given a restaurant pager once we've paid. It's one of those flashing thing that light up when your food is ready.

Let's talk about the food. For the fried chicken, personally I think the herb taste is too strong, and the skin weren't crispy enough. Otherwise, they were ok. Nothing special. Can I do it better at home? Yes. The portion of fries were small. The finger mozzarella weren't hot, so the cheese centre weren't soft and gluey like how they supposed to be. Also they are pretty blend. Confusingly we did get a pull pork sandwich even though we were told they ran out of pull pork. The sandwich is disappointingly skinny considering how big they look in their pictures. The filing were also blend. The best thing were the soft drink as they were nice and cold.

Let's talk about the hygiene. The tables were dirty, the soft seat were full of stains and oil markings. And the black metal chairs were sticky. Ewwwwww.

Overall, it's not a pleasurable experience. Will I come back again? It's unlikely. Would I recommend it to anyone? May be just for the fried chicken but only if they really really want some fried chicken, since KFC across the road is...

We come to this Pans and Company every week almost and we are very happy with the service here. The food is fast, but tastes really nice and the price is very reasonable. They have a lot of Vegan options which is why we like it here, and they also have a cafe area for those just wanting a snack.

The only negative is that during busy times, the tables and bins can get quite full and dirty - it's not the staffs fault, they need more people to work on those shifts. But they are always friendly and helpful here. Some of them also speak English as well, so that's helpful if you're only visiting the area on holiday.

Overpriced and unhygienic. Very unhelpful staff. We saw a waitress clean half a table and leave the remainder dirty. Our table was filthy. We waited about 10 minutes for 2 dishes one of which was a salad and there was only 2 other people in who were already eating so really not sure why it took so long. When it arrived they served my salad only with a fork. I asked for a knife. The one given to me was dirty and when this was mentioned he wiped it with his fingers. I asked for a clean one and he got another one and wiped it clean with his fingers again . We will not...
