Fa Li Du — Restaurant in Orihuela

Ling ling and her husband own and run it. I never saw someone with such a work ethic. I'm not sure in what capacity her husband works. Her kids help out with dish washing and preparing non alcoholic drinks and the looked so happy eating with Daddy after their ",shift". The food: I'm not a Chinese fan but they do great Thai and good quality ingredients. Ling ling whizzes around taking orders so I'd suggest you don't dilly dally when she arrives at your table. She's gas calling everyone "Honey Honey". Price: Unbelievably low, I don't know how they make a decent profit! Set menu has 3 price/choice level €10.50, €11.50 and €12.50. Choice of starter, main course & rice, dessert or tea/coffee AND half bottle of red/white@@@@!!!!!! My group go for the €11.50 as it has the Thai dishes that we like with great Prawns. Very slow service. It took two hours between the starter and main course. The food was overcooked. There wasn't any meat on the pork ribs. The portions were small. I made a complaint and was offered two bottles of wine for the four of us. These were then charged to our table. I made representations about the charge however Ying Ying refused to remove the charge and was hostile. We have used Fa Li Du for many years and had mixed experiances. Occationaly it has been great however more often it has been poor. We have found insects in the food and complained. What made Fa Li Du special was the friendly nature of Ying Ying however on the last occations Feb 2023 Ying Ying was very rude. We all suffered from an upset stomach today after our visit and sadly will never return. One because of the poor food and secondly the delay and poor attitude of Ying Ying. I would not recommend using this restaurant. There is another in Los Dolses called Miss Asia. It has excellent food and service. It isn't as well decorated as Fa Li Du but is in our view good value and worthy of a visit and...

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Seems to be a mixture of Thai and Hong Kong styles and the food is consistently good quality and well made. The owner is lovely, calls everyone honey and she takes the orders. Her brother does the table clearing, both do the serving. During busy times another family member gets roped on to help. Service is normally swift and starters arrive quickly. When they are busy, mains can come one at a time rather than all at once, but with not much delay between dishes appearing. For me, the highlight of the menu is their Thai red and green curry dishes.
