Went yesterday for the 3rd time. The first time we had a nice meal but the serving of food is very messy, e.g. My husband got his food and I got mine 20 minutes later. So unfortunately we couldn't eat together.
The 2nd time we went with friends. Then the food was very salty. We did indicate but they said 'no, it's supposed to be like that'. So not because the first time it wasn't salty.
Went again yesterday evening (Friday 18 Oct) with friends. Another disaster with the delivery of food to the table. We had to wait 10 minutes before our friend got his food. In the meantime our food was getting cold.
I ordered noodles (Tallarines Fritos) among other things. As soon as they were put on the table, we noticed a very strange smell - my friends made a joke that the Chinese soya says smells like that. We took two bites but the noodles really stank and tasted awful. They were clearly old noodles. Reported to the waitress who wanted to get new ones but I immediately had an aversion and told her to take it off the bill, which they didn't do at first even though I didn't eat them.
A little later in the evening I started to feel sick - nausea, stomach ache and diarrhea. I reported it right away. However, they didn't want to accept that it was their old noodles and shouted 'you ate too much ice cream' (1 scoop of ice cream).
I called the other waitress and asked her to be honest about the smell of the noodles. It seemed like she feared for her job because she didn't dare say anything. It's just that I insisted that she had to be honest that she admitted that they were indeed rotten.
Even though old food doesn't belong in a restaurant, I understand that sometimes they keep things too long and then you get situations like this. I didn't get a 'sorry' at all, no I was accused of having eaten too much ice cream.
For this reason I will never ever eat there again and I will certainly never...
Read moreVery very weird experience. We ordered fried wonton for starters. I am asian, I know what fried wonton looks like and taste like. What they gave us wasn’t friend wonton, but a fried long stick looking like a dog bone. I ask if they served us wrong, they said this is how they serve it (but in the photo its looks normal which is round). Well, doesnt matter I thought if its a stick or round. What a complete chock when I bite into it, it was only cheese in them!! When I ask about why are there cheese in fried wonton in a Thai restaurant the waiter told me this is how they serve their wonton in this restaurant. When I asked to see the menu I told the waiter that isnt written that the friend was wonton is only filled with cheese. The waiter said “Well, its not written either here and there whats inside either, you should ask us whats inside” while she was pointing at the friend spring rolls and fried gyoza as an example. She proposed us fried gyoza as they are like the normal one she said, I said yes in thinking they will not charge for it but at the end they both charge for the wonton and gyoza. The
Beside of that, everything was really good (except the fried rice that was very dry and the rice isnt really...
Read moreHad a really really disappointing evening at the banana tree this evening. We have visited this restaurant about 5 times now (everytime we come out here on holiday). This evening we went expecting the same excellent meals we are used to. It has recently been renovated and we were excited to see the new look. The waiter took our drinks order but never gave us menus until after our drinks were served. When he came back to take our order we were ready to order from the menu of the day, he told us this was only available in the afternoon. The menu quite clearly has a price for afternoon & evening & is even advertised on a big board outside the restaurant. When I queried this, he said the menus were old, even though all the food on them is still available & advertised. We ordered off the main menu instead but I can't say any of us had anything worth talking about. Food is served in the most amazing bowls & boats but all our food was just "okay". I was left waiting over 30minutes for a drink. There are other Thai restaurants within walking distance who offer menu of the day & the food is fabulous! Sadly we won't be returning to the...
