Famous Steak - House Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Orihuela

Oh what a shame. We’ve always loved coming to this restaurant as they always serve such lovely food. We were here just 3 months ago and were really pleased with our choices. The steak was served to perfection and the salmon was succulent too. On this occasion, however, we were disappointed. To their credit the prawn purée starters were excellent but the steak came up lacking. The waiter who took the order was attentive and understood my description of a blue steak and said he’d advise the cook. Unfortunately when it arrived it was medium rare at best. It may have been because it was a particularly thin steak. All the same it was overcooked. I would probably also have to add that the salmon was considerably smaller than the last time we came even though there was a price increase.

They said they were sorry, but I fear we may not be...

It was terrible. We asked to meet the 'italian' chef that they purported to have, then it transpired that there was no Italian chef, that he was Indian who knew how to cook Italian food. We opted for Indian take away, but apparently the Indian chef had no idea how to cook Indian food.

All in all, a very expensive and unsatisfactory experience.

We visited for a birthday meal on a quiet weekday in March. My husband asked for his steak to be cooked blue, and he was delighted to find the steak was perfectly cooked - succulent and juicy.
