DeTres — Restaurant in Palafrugell

Been to about 45 countries, including Italy, Japan, France, etc. This seafood is out of this world good. I came here just before closing on a Saturday after a 3hr bus ride, having not eaten since the day before. I was starving but would have been annoyed if the food was average. It was instead perfection. Fresh, perfectly executed and simple to elevate the seafood. Things I normally hate (truffle) I loved - they snuck it in the mash!

I had a starter of these small clams. Soft subtle sweet abs with a bit of olive oil. Incredible. Then had calamari which came with a little salsa verde and mash....

Visited Detres on a recommendation and were not disappointed! Everything from the decor, service, drinks, and of course food were perfect!!! You can tell that the owner and his family take care of their restaurant and their customers and should be proud of all the work done here! The most memorable part of the night was the amazing main dish of "Presa/bola de bellota"... it was cooked perfectly and the meat just melted in your mouth! We visited Costa Brava in July a few weeks after all of Spain moved to the “new normal.” During the trip, we were still somewhat reluctant to visit restaurants, but we visited 3. We are a family of 4 with two 7 year old daughters. This restaurant was excellent. The great service was evident from the time we made the reservation and this continued when we arrived.
