Café Xorri — Restaurant in Palma

For quite a while we have been going there for breakfast most weekends. The food is good, the location fantastic and the service usually very friendly.

On Friday morning we were served by who we believe is the owner (black grey hair in his 50s). Our guess was that his waiting staff had not turned up as he very rarely serves. He was extremely rude. Very unfriendly already when taking our order, banging a second coffee on the the side of the table rather than handing it to the person who ordered it from him just a minute before.

When it came to paying the bill (EUR 35 for 3 people) we wanted to pay with two cards. He got really angry and did not accept that, He said (translated from Spanish) "you pay with one card and sort it out between you later - this is normal. no exceptions" ... he was so rude that we will not be going back there. Definitely worst restaurant we've visited in Mallorca. The food was awfull and had no taste. We had chicken curry and octopus. Would not reccommend at all. Though the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and good location near the see, it's a shame the food is of such a poor quality. We asked if they do take-aways and they said yes, so we ordered two meals. When these were ready and I asked for plastic cutlery, we were told they had none. They could have warned us when ordering. Luckily we had some plastic forks and spoons with us, but if we didn't, we wouldn't be able to eat the meals. Very customer non-friendly attitude to offer take-aways and not provide...

Stuff is unfortunately very unfriendly. I asked for a decaf coffee and a bottle of water - they forgot about the water & when the coffee came I only asked if it was a decaf for sure then the tall waiter said „cappucino“ - so it seemed like he had no clue & I asked at the bar if it was really a decaf . I got a new one which was fine, but then I asked for the water again (i also had to ask myself because the waiters kept ignoring us) and the waiter asked twice if i wanted it without gas - I said yes and he brought, after a long time, a water with gas.
