My fiancée surprised me with a trip to Palma to celebrate my birthday last weekend. We arrived on Thursday, August 14, and after a long day of traveling and relaxing by the hotel pool, we realized late in the evening that most restaurant kitchens had already closed. A kind waitress recommended that Restaurant Capri was still serving food, so we decided to go there.
The place felt cozy and the atmosphere was nice. My fiancée, who works in the food industry and is very attentive to quality and hygiene, ordered the grilled squid and was very happy with her dish. I ordered the chicken breast with French fries and pepper sauce. The food tasted fine – the sauce was good and the vegetables quite tasty – but unfortunately, the evening did not end well for me.
Shortly after, I became ill and am now hospitalized, receiving IV fluids and antibiotics for a campylobacter infection in my intestines. Of course, it cannot be proven with 100% certainty where the infection came from, but this was the only chicken dish I ate during the trip, and Capri was also the only restaurant where my fiancée and I ordered different dishes. She stayed healthy, I got sick – which strongly suggests that the chicken at Capri was the cause.
In summary: pleasant atmosphere and good service, but my experience was completely ruined by what was most likely undercooked or contaminated chicken. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend...
Read moreUnfortunately, I ordered it for delivery. So I can't see and taste the food on the spot.
The delivery food was tasty with quite a lot of seafood in it. But I'm not sure if it's Paella or Risotto from the texture. Maybe because it's delivered so it's super soggy, mushy, and not dry at all. I love the shrimp! It was huge and fresh from the taste. Besides, the shells don't look like they were cleaned properly. And for this, I feel disappointed even though I love the shrimp!
I imagined croquettes with filling but perhaps the croquettes I have encountered have a different style. So honestly it tastes plain for me. I expect something more full of flavor from the croquettes, because I eat croquettes as fingersnack and dip in sauce for example, not to crumble on bread. So I expect filling or sauce, or at least something inside them.
After all, I still wanna try to dine the Paella. Maybe it'll taste and be shown differently. Hope I'll have another chance to visit the restaurant and change my...
Read moreWe've stayed in hotel above the restaurant and we discovered and loved this restaurant from the start. Nice atmosphere created by super friendly, attentive staff. They provide an excellent service, they speak good english. Very good food. Good prices. Place is clean and tidy. My child was very fussy eater and guys took even a step further to help and were making dishes he likes but which not even been on their menu. I really really appreciate that. We were coming back there everyday and enjoyed food and drinks, especially their fantastic Sangria. Guys made us feel welcome, waiting times for food were good, portion sizes alright and my child absolutely loved their fresh smoothies and milkshakes. This is the perfect place if you stay in one of nearby hotels and don't have half board or all inclusive booked, because you can dine in this restaurant all day and you won't regret it. We...
