I put 1 star overall because of the terrible experience.

We went out last night at about 11 pm. The waitress advised they would be closing the kitchen in 15 mins but we can still stay and order. We advised if it is too tight we can leave but they insisted we stay.

She gave us the menu and came back in about 5 mins to check if we were ready to order. We had already decided on 1 dish to share so we suggested we were still looking. One other waitress, I think she is the manager or owns the business came about 2 mins later and told us the kitchen is closing so she would order one meal for us plus the fish dish we had already decided. We agreed but she had already taken the menu so we didn't even know the price and in fairness didn't think to ask.

About 10 mins later she brought Lomo alto de Angus in one small dish (about 8 small pieces of meat and about 10 small fries) plus the fish dish we had ordered.

When the bill came, they had charged us 2x Lomo alto de Angus (56 euros) and in total, 80 euros. I asked why the charged us twice for Lomo Alto de Angus which is when things took a very bad turn.

The waitress became aggressive and shouted it was 2 dishes when clearly it was 1 dish. The manager (that ordered the dish for us) also came aggressively with the receipt and said that was 2 dishes. I advised that I think they they really rushed us into ordering and there was no way we could know that this is 2 dishes not to mention it came in a very small square plate and they didn't explain this to us before.

She started saying we should check their reviews, that they are a very good establishment and even aggressively tore the receipt and said we can go without paying - she didn't care.

The other 2 waitresses were meanwhile shouting at us to leave. I said we would and we did but we would also leave a review. One of the waitresses said 'You think we do not speak English? that is why you are saying you will leave a review?' I asked what does this experience have to do with speaking or not speaking English?

In any case, we paid the bill in full - 80 euros but the bad experience from the rushed service to the aggressive behavior we endured made this a terrible experience.

I will be avoiding this establishment...

I decided to come from Valencia to Requena early as my son had a football match in the early evening. I checked on Google where we could have lunch, and I made my choice having read previous reviews.

We were not disappointed. Daniel, his family and staff could not do enough for us. Truly wonderful customer service, and always with a smile.

A welcoming vermouth and a non alcoholic grape juice for my son was a very pleasant surprise.

The food was excellent as many others have covered in previous reviews, and I'd highly recommend a visit to anyone in or passing through Requena. 10/10.

We even got a bottle of water to take away with us which was a very nice gesture. Those small details make all the difference. I'll certainly be back. Thanks again for a...

The service was very friendly, however we found it quite expensive for what you get. The kids' meal was €14 for a tiny hamburger and a tinier scoop of ice cream. The potato fries and the empañadas were not fried properly, not crispy but limp. The meat was okay, nothing special. Most of all we found it very expensive compared to the quality of the food and the menu is structured in a way that you don't really have a lot of choice but to take the more expensive options. It is a pity as we had a great tour of the bodegas and enjoyed that part of our day, and wanted to conclude the day on a high but instead felt done in. We don't mind paying a bit more for a menu but then the quality of the food must reflect...

I did a wine tour in Requena and was looking for a place to stop and get some food with the family. I had previously communicated with the owner ( Daniel Rodriguez) and from emails to face-to-face, he was very pleasant, funny and to top it off, provided us with amazing food. We ate a variety of Empanadas and Lomo Alto that was on the money! They greeted us with a nice Martini (on the house) and smiles that made our visit feel very much at home. Amazing food, great services and fantastic atmosphere. Make sure you visit this restaurant whenever you are visiting or passing through Requena, Spain.
