Restaurante Lacaliza — Restaurant in Rincón de la Victoria

We came to this place at 13:00 and were 3 people. For some reason the guy at reception directed us to top terrace at +35°C when they had plenty of places inside. Ok, we complained and got a place inside. We didn't get a view to the sea, not clear why. There were at least 8 tables in better location with a view and we took one of those, but he redirected us further away. Our guess is that the table he directed us to had setting made for 3 ppl and others were missing 1 plate and thay would require "too much efforts" to add 1 more plate. NOONE SPEAKS ANY ENGLISH there - huge minus for the place. In general stuff was not polite. We got bread as appetizer, but not butter or olive oil. When Lady brought drinks, my husband got beer in a bottle without a glass... He had to ask for a glass and waitress with unhappy face then brought it. Our daughter got hamburger with French fries which were ok, but ketchup she got in plastic 1 portion packs... like in McDonald's. How hard can it be to put it in sauce plate? This really makes experience like in a cheap restaurant. Which is really strange compared to fancy interior of the place. Food itself was good and we would be happy to pay more for it if only we got a proper service. Noone asked us at any point if food was good or if everything was ok. Feels like they invested money 1 time I the interior and that's it. It's especially weird since we read many comments here that service was great. I don't know what to say. Maybe it is what you compare it with. We won't go there...

A horrable experience!! It started with our reservation which was not in their book. Reluctantly the 4 of us were given a table and immediately (we were hardly seated) a waiter asked us what we wanted to drink. Our drinks were placed at one end of the table in a hurry by a rather unpleasant lady waiter and we ourselves had to take them from there. We were urged to use the QR code to see the menu and only after we insisted we got ONE sheet of paper with a printed menu. Then we were told that some items on the paper menu were not available. We ordered a starter of 12 croquettes as well as our maincourses. The croquettes were delicious, but halfway us eating our starter the maincourses arrived already. The quality of them was good but not special. The wine we ordered was poured with great desinteresse and with every glass wine was spilled on the table; the waiter went away, the table was not dried and no excuses whatsoever. The place definitely has a privileged location and panoramic sea views, charming to hunt the sunsets if the weather is nice and sunny 🌞 ...

...but the service needs to improve right away the place was fully crowded and only few waitress no covering easily the capacity they tried to handle it but, to take the orders was taking so long to get served and consecutively the dishes reach delayed not tasty at all. Sadly disappointed about some of the host was notorious tired and moody rude logically for the overbooked place and when one of the persons of my group went kindly to request if there possible to get a powerbank or charger for one of the cellphones. I'm definitely not coming back it is overpriced, but I hope you take the points seriously to improve (get more waitress or shifts to do not lose quality of service) and do not waste such a charming location....
