El Grito — Restaurant in Roquetas de Mar

I have been to this restaurant many times with my family in the last 9 years, back when it was a very humble restaurant with yummy food. Up until last year the service was amazing and the food delicious. I went with my family yesterday and it was a complete disappointment!

I ordered monkfish and it was so tough I could not eat it. My husband ordered meat and it took so long for the dish to come, me and my kids had already eaten by the time they brought my husband’s food. In all fairness my husband loved his dish, but having to eat alone was not nice for him.

When I ordered the bill, we had to wait more than half an hour for the waiter to bring it. I was so fed up with the experience, we will certainly not be back, the place has been expanded in the last few years, but there is not enough staff, the waiters are just trying to do their job, but they can’t engage with the clients, so the service is terrible....

Enero, a pie de playa, 17 grados, muy buena comida y muy bien cocinada..., lástima que el servicio de dos de los camareros estropease el momento.

La calidad de los productos que utilizan es muy buena, están muy bien cocinados. Vale la pena pegar el precio que, aunque nones excesivamente alto, si que sube un poco. La calidad tiene que pagarse.

Los boquerones eran muy frescos y nada aceitosos, muy jugosos y muy bien fritos.

Los calamares fritos, igual de bien cocinados que los boquerones y muy tiernos. Aunque tengo que comentar que quizás los trozos son demasiado pequeños y tienen demasiadas patatas que engañan un poco el plato.

El arroz muy rico y en su punto exacto de cocción, la cantidad pars dos personas es muy correcta. Se nota que el fondo de pescado es muy sabroso.

La pluma estaba muy tierna, jugosa y sabrosa, pero por el precio pagado esperaba mas cantidad.

Ahora toca hablar de lo menos agradable, el servicio de dos de sus camareros. Uno alto y otro con barba. Uno de ellos nos atendió al llegar y, a pesar de que había una mesa apartada sin montar, nos dino que no había sitio en la terraza, luego nos llevo dentro y nos sentó en una mesa que resultó estar reservada para otros comensales y poco después otro camarero nos hizo levantar de forma un poco impertinente y sin entender que su compañero nos hizo sentar allí. Posteriormente preguntamos a una chica con el pelo corto de punta si había otro sitio, ella nos atendió de forma muy cordial y nos ofreció la mesa de la terraza que su compañero dijo que no se podía utilizar para comer. Por último, el servicio de otro camarero que nos sirvió la bebida fué decepcionante, de tres cervezas que sirvió una de ellas estaba caliente, le pedimos que la cambiara y al momento llego con un tono irónico y dijo que tenía la solución...., una vaso frío para poner la cerveza caliente, dejó el vaso y cuando se marchó le tuvimos que reclamar que nos cambiase la cerveza caliente por una fría, ya que su solución no era la adecuada. so it was a Friday night, and after being shouted at for not having a booking from another restaurant, we came here for some Calamari and fries with beer, it was lovely, (though I'd like a bit more salt). As little to non-spanish speakers, we felt comfortable and ordered food and drink with the guys. It's a nice restaurant with attentive waiters. I would visit again. I would suggest learning basic Spanish for aguadulce and not letting anything put you off. Just go for it!
