Restaurante Pa'Levante — Restaurant in Roquetas de Mar

We had the most amazing lunch at PA'LEVANTE, what an incredible experience! We were visiting Malaga and decided to visit also Roquetas de Mar; we made a reservation online for lunch and when we arrived, the table was waiting for us, having a label with our name on it. My wife doesn't eat much meat and is lactose-intolerant, and the ladies taking our order and serving the food were paying so much attention to these details, that we could really enjoy this beautiful restaurant and the sea-side location. We had the tuna tataki (best tuna we ate in a while!), the octopus salad, the salad with olive oil icecream (amazing! never had it this good!) and the octopus leg (cooked to perfection!).

The ladies taking care of us didn't talk great English but they did their best to understand us and to explain to us (in a Spanish-English mix) everything, making sure we know all the details - couldn't ask for more :) The location is great, super view, everything was clean and quiet, beautiful menu (not the usual 'deep-fried everything'),...

What a joke! I walk into the restaurant it's dead not a single person is there. I'm asked if I have reservations: I say no. The woman proceeds to tell me I have to sit in the back room. It's 1 PM on a Sunday. I decided that I wanted better service so I go to the restaurant next-door called bar Aurora talk about amazing service and perfect food. Don't waste your money at that place. I was well dressed and ready to spend a pretty dime on a good meal. Their loss and what horrible service. When we left the restaurant next-door, there was only one person in the entire restaurant they could've seated us anywhere.

Reply: That is a complete fabrication, I yelled at no one and as the picture clearly indicates you're lying about all your reservations. I took this picture after I finished my meal at the Bar next door. Wow not only horrible customer service but instead of taking the criticism like a good business would you tell...

En este sitio te dejan en la mesa mucho más de lo que piden en la factura (lo dicho no vale para amantes de la tocineta o el lomo a la plancha. Abstenerse). Por tanto es un sitio RECOMENDABLE; iría más allá: OBLIGADO. No añado fotos de platos, porque éstas no aportan nada, en todos sitios ponen platos bonitos, y es preferible que se califique PA LEVANTE, por lo que digo, más que por lo que dice la cámara de mi móvil, que además no es de marca. Estamos hablando de un lugar en el que se cocina. Parece raro comenzar así pero en Almería no sobran cocineros, descalificando de este oficio a quienes sirven en lugares que sólo planchan, fríen o brasean (por desgracia demasiado abundantes) y los dueños se pasean por la sala henchidos por la gran calidad de la carne o el pescado que pone; y la calidad de la carne es del ganadero y la del pescado corresponde a la suerte del pescador, eso se lo hace uno en casa con la misma carne y el mismo pescado, a fin de cuentas consiste en tener un fuego y una sartén. En PA LEVANTE se cocina. Con calidad de género, con imaginación, sin límite a las diversas técnicas entre los fogones, con versatilidad, con estética, con diversidad, conociendo la tradición, recibiendo la novedad, cambiando y al final pintando en un menú con sabores, colores, texturas y aromas diferentes y entretenidos. No conozco el nombre de quién anda entre fogones, ni tan siquiera la cara, ni falta que hace ni a él o a ella, ni a mí. Pero si conozco como es: Perfeccionista, inquiet@, generos@, piensa en los demás, inteligente, pausado y eficaz, enormemente racional, pulcr@, imaginativ@, aborrece la rutina... (También tienen algo de eso quienes lo acompañan) No le deseo suerte, no la necesita, le deseo que los conozcan, con eso les basta. Sólo he estado una vez, y comí: Croquetas de Carrillada Alcachofas confitadas con vinagreta de manzana Pulpo braseado en espuma de patata y algas Ensalada de Rulo de cabra y brotes tiernos Gurullos de bogavantes Milhoja con chocolate belga Arroz con leche envuelto en pasta filo Vino blanco recomendado por ellos y muy adecuado.
