Zamarrita — Restaurant in Rota

This place is an absolute gem! I know a couple that flys into Spain (from Japan) every year just to eat Antonio's (the owner) Pulpo (Octopus). Antonio makes the best Chocos, Pulpo, Shrimp, and Juevo de Chocos in town......and in all of Andalusia for that matter!!

The decor is that of an old traditional Spanish bar. But the place is so much more. The Chocos Sucios and Pulpo are a religious experience. ANTONIO cooks them until they are tender and perfect. The Chocos Sucios are cuttlefish cooked with a but if their iodine, creating an incredible flavor that I've yet to experience elsewhere. For the Pulpo, get there early because he'll limit the amount you can order so that others have a chance to try it. That's right: this man doesn't want to run out before everyone has tried some. Eat here before you leave this Earth!

Antes que nada dejar claro que no comimos en este sitio, con lo que la valoración no quiero que afecte a la calidad del sitio,ni de la comida que desconozco, solo aporto mi experiencia para que el propietario tenga también conocimiento, aunque creo que se dio cuenta. Casi las 14.00 de la tarde acudimos a este sitio porque hace años había estado, pedimos 2 cervezas, cuando llegamos había en el local un cliente o persona que allí era conocido con venta de almendras y mojama de Sevilla. Yo iba con mi niña de 4 años a la cual atosigó y quería forzar a que probase sus almendras, por más que le insistiamos que no, ella no queria, también conmigo y mi marido para que comiesemos almendras, tal era la insistencia y nos hizo sentir tan incómodos, porque es que no paraba, que nos tomamos la cerveza y nos fuimos. De exo la mesa que estaba fuera le había comprado mojama a 15€ supongo que por el mismo motivo, la insistencia que te hacía desesperar. Desde luego el dueño no tiene la culpa, pero sí que debería plantearse que cuando le afecta a su clientela, le afecta a él, así que como consejo, debería dejarle las cosas claras a esta persona de confianza. Yo no volveré la verdad porque para estar incómoda y pasar un mal rato hay...
