This was our second visit to Es Barranc in the last 10 days. The first visit was on the recommendation of friends - that we dined with and last night was with another couple of friends - on our recommendation. The menu has guaranteed favourites - carbonara, smashed burger but also more modern twists - slow cooked ox cheek in deep fried filo cannelloni, scallop linguini in a beure blanc and pistacio sauce. Limited dessert menu but what is there is the perfect end to your meal. The dishes were well presented and the Duck Confit came with a nice selection of vegetables - which is quite a rarity. The size of the dishes were good and very good value for the price. Service was relaxed and friendly with good menu suggestions and descriptions of the days dish of the day. The restaurant is set within the centre of a small village surrounded by traditional old stone houses. the outside terrace where we sat was exactly as you hope with a beautiful backdrop, spacious and individual. There is even a small area for children to play with seating and a slide. There is another smaller terrace at the front of the restaurant and a small indoor area where you can also eat. At the end of our meal, our friends were pleased with our suggestion and noted that we will definitely add it to our list of local restaurants that we will visit. We will...
Read moreThis place is incredible from the moment you arrive. Tucked away in a small mountain town, it’s low-key, welcoming, and instantly relaxing. The servers are warm, genuine, and set the tone for what turned out to be one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
We sat outside as a group of four, and every dish impressed. The crispy cannelloni was a revelation, perfectly crisp without being oily or too hard and filled with rich, flavorful slow cooked veal in ragú. I’d happily order it as a main. The turbot with lemon crust and citrus risotto was flawless: delicate fish, beautifully balanced citrus sauce which I would’ve shamelessly licked off the plate if not for being in public. One of us had the smash burger, cooked medium-rare, and claimed it was the best burger they’d ever had. Everything tasted so fresh, clearly made with produce and ingredients the chefs deeply care about.
What struck me most was the creativity and brilliance behind each dish. Honestly, this meal outshone spots like Nautilus, where we ate the night before at double the price and it was so average! Here, I’d return again and again without hesitation.
And then dessert: the fig tiramisu. Light, not overly sweet, perfectly seasonal, and one of the best tiramisus I’ve ever had. I’ll be thinking about this place for a long time. Cannot...
Read moreWe can't say enough good things about this place. We are lucky enough to be staying in Biniaraix for a month & have visited this place more times than we care to remember and we are only 2 weeks in. :-) It's such a relaxing, friendly spot and the food is class! Our favourites are the nachos, padron peppers, tuna salad, patatas bravas, chips, coca de trampo (and a special they did last night of blue cheese, caramelised onion and figs... YUM), truffle pasta, all desserts. We haven't disliked anything so far to be fair :-) We are both cyclists and love having a few cold beers when we return from a day on the bike. We were chatting to one of our waitresses last night and she told us it's a family run place which made me like it even more. Her name is Sylvia and is such a sweet lovely girl. Can't believe how lucky we are to be living close to this restaurant. Try it...
