Visited off season (January, Saturday lunch) so there was plenty of seating. Took a while to be served, but service was friendly and the food was good. The house wine was only 3.5 EUR, which worried me slightly, but it was actually very nice, and we would have stayed for another had we not had somewhere else to be. Not exceptional, so not worth a detour to visit, but a great location (even better in summer, I imagine) so a great option if you're looking for food or drink whilst in Sa Pobla. From mid-morning, it gets the sun if you're sat outside: great in winter, might not be so ideal in summer. Good range of vegetarian options.

Tuvimos una aventura hasta llegar al lugar. Reservamos y llegamos tarde, debo admitirlo. Fallo nuestro. Pero no fue queriendo ni mucho menos. Al llegar el camarero bromeó con que ya casi cierran. O al menos yo decidí tomármelo como una broma después de un largo día lleno de imprevistos y disgustos. Apenas había gente y nos dejó sentarnos donde quisimos. Yo escogí el sofà antiguo (y viejo) de la entrada. Había musiquita de fondo. Y... La carta en QR. Suerte (una vez más) de mi pareja, que sinó me quedo sin leer la carta. Pedimos dos cañitas, un provolone, pizza plaça vuit (sin cebolla) y una pizza verde mare. Ahí ya el camarero fue más simpático. Y ahí mi mensaje particular para él: Perdone, señor, no queríamos hacerle ir mal, ni mucho menos, pero a veces cuando uno esta de vacaciones tiene imprevistos. Mi pareja quería realmente una fruti di mare. Y se empachó enseguida con las espinacas de la verde mare, error suyo. Recomiendo ver foto. Lo que si que es una pizza muy original la verde di mare aunque sosa la parte verde. La mía, la plaça 8, estaba bien, sin más. El aceite picante muy potente. Cuidado. El tamaño de las pizzas es considerablemente grande. Tuvimos una conversación más que interesante con el camarero italiano. Le deseamos lo mejor. Por las fotos el lugar parece más nuevo y es algo viejo, pero está bien. Es un sitio diferente.

Una experiència de 10 a Restaurant Plaça Vuit Des del primer moment ja vàrem notar que seria un sopar especial. Vam començar compartint una focaccia espectacular, tendra i plena de sabor, i unes croquetes de bacallà que ens varen sorprendre pel seu gust intens i textura cremosa, realment delicioses. Les pizzes varen ser tota una revelació: massa al punt, ingredients de qualitat i sobretot molt generoses, d’aquelles que es noten fetes amb ganes i que conviden a compartir a taula. Es plats no només varen complir, sinó que varen superar ses expectatives. I si amb això ja estàvem encantats, es postres varen arrodonir sa vetlada. Especial menció al crep de pistatxo, que va ser, sense cap dubte, el protagonista absolut de la nit. Un final dolç i sorprenent que encara recordam. Però si hi ha una cosa que va fer que el sopar fos inoblidable, va ser en Simó, es cambrer. A part de ser un gran professional, va aconseguir donar un toc especial a tota s’experiència. Proper, atent, amb molt de sentit de l’humor i capaç de fer-nos sentir com a casa. Vàrem riure molt i va convertir un simple sopar en una vetlada divertida i entranyable. En resum: cuina generosa i gustosa, postres espectaculars i un servei que marca la diferència. Un lloc totalment recomanable i que, sens dubte, repetirem.

We visited at breakfast time. Mallorca isn’t big on breakfast. It appears that they are using coffee and pastry people. Still, they made me a delicious ham and cheese sandwich despite it being culturally too early. We also had a cortado and a latte. I made life difficult by asking for decaf “discafinado” but they managed that too. Service was friendly and fast. They also spoke English which helped as I don’t speak Mallorcan and my Spanish is imperfect.

Our local friend told us they serve very excellent Italian...

I’m so disappointed, it’s mine and my boyfriend’s last night in Majorca and we have a very early flight to catch. We thought to get a pizza takeaway from this place and eat it home. We got home to find out it was completely inedible, the dough was overly salty, the toppings were so cheap and gross, some very salty salami and bacon was pure fat. I don’t know about the other dishes but the pizza there was really terrible. Couldn’t eat it...
