Expectations were high since my parents visited this place about 15 years ago.
Apparently, everything has changed.
This was anything but good. We started off in a sauna (the entrance), spending 30 minutes in front of a roll-up banner. The guide knew their stuff, but the heat and the noise from all the other groups in this commercial setting were unbearable. Our group had about 15 people, but others had up to 50. We had booked the premium package, which included a guided tour, wine tasting, and a six-course meal.

Everything leaned towards being sweet—even the seafood salad, which I couldn’t finish. When the tuna arrived, my daughter started crying. It was unbalanced and overcooked. I took one bite and couldn’t eat more. Inedible. The dessert was cold milk with chopped pears poached in wine.

We expected a romantic, engaging tasting where you try wines with your guide and talk about them, but instead, we were split into big groups, rushed through a production tour, and then led to a large, banquet-style hall that felt like a low-budget wedding venue.
Wine was only served during the meal, and not even explained. The food (a supposed tasting menu) was bland and mainly seafood without flavour, it felt like mass catering. The room was dark, smelled odd, and the whole experience lacked warmth and passion for wine. The experience felt completely impersonal and touristy.
Save your time and money—there are much better, more authentic bodegas in the area. Ask your hotel for recommendations and read...
