Mel's Kitchen — Restaurant in San Fulgencio

Been to this restaurant a number of times and have had no complaints at all….. until our last visit this week!! Raw food served, which was sent back and was then totally cremated - this should never have been served and instead re cooked. Home made steak pie had no seasoning at all, disgusting flavourless pastry with hardly any steak at all, and what was there was tiny off-cut bits and is nowhere near as good as it used to be. The last time I was in Mels was January 2022 for my 50th & on Friday night the food was once again an absolute delight. We had the tomato & basil soup and calamari as starters followed by the beef & chicken. I had after eight cake & my partner a baileys coffee for afters. The meal with a bottle of red wine was 42 euros. This place is fantastic value for money, the food is always perfect, portions are large & you get service with a smile. I've eaten here many a time and the food has always been excellent. Andy is a great host on front of house - the lovely mix of attentiveness and taking the micky. Tonight was a meal for four - rump steak, cottage pie, cheese and bacon sauced pork and braised beef. All perfectly cooked with a great assortment of veg on the side.

I seriously recommend booking as walk in seats are rare, even off season. Don't let that put you off though - the food...
