Read moreDon't be put off by the lack of reviews. Or by the fact it's in the middle of nowhere. The trip is worth it. This place is perfect. No exaggeration necessary. Service, food quality and yes even the ambiance. Arrived at 1pm before they were even open. But we were welcomed to sit in the garden and were even asked if we wanted to order drinks already. The day was sweltering and humid and this was a real kindness. The on the house appetizer was a sign of great things to come. Would go back even for just that. But every appetizers we had, the tomato salad and the risotto, the vegetables were so fresh and flavorful. The snow crab and the scallops are not to be missed. And the txuleta was mindblowing. Easily the best steak in our 3 week trip around Spain, having tried some well known steak restaurants in Madrid, Barcelona and Seville and maybe even the most tasty steak I have ever had (beats champion grade Kobe from Japan). Cut with a knife, it won't be super tender, but it is definitely NOT chewy in your mouth. Grilled on a giant firewood grill, and you can taste it in the meat. But that's not all. The lemon tart, arroz con leche and the cheesecake each delectable in their own ways made in house. Go hungry. Pay attention to the recommendations. Share with others so you can taste as much as possible. Will...

Rain meant we could not & needed to find somewhere off the beaten track, not too busy & can accept our 2 babies also. With the amount of high quality places in town - not easy to find somewhere family friendly. After a phone call to check they could accommodate we found our way there, which not easy even with a gps... But worth it - oh yes! A lady who spoke great English helped us through the menu & everything sounded fantastic. This is just the sort of place I love to find - highly rated but still a find. High class & quality food but at a bargain. The wine I asked for recommendation (Rueda) came in at 11.00 euros & was perfect,. The fish - OMG - Merluza was excellent, especially the neck (local recommendation). This is our first of 10 nights in Donostia - can it...
