Unfortunately, my recent experience at Jockey Club was far from satisfactory. While the ambiance and food quality were good, the service we received was extremely disappointing.

The primary issue stemmed from our waiter for the beach area (the guy with some drawings on his left arm), whose behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. Throughout our meal, we encountered several problems:

Rudeness: The waiter's attitude was consistently disrespectful and impolite. Attempted scam: We noticed discrepancies in the prices the waiter called out vs the amount of money they waiter asked from us. Poor service: Basic hospitality standards were not met, severely impacting our dining experience.

It's regrettable that a single staff member's actions can so negatively affect a restaurant's reputation. I would strongly advise the management to address these serious service issues to prevent similar experiences for future patrons.

Given this experience, I cannot recommend Jockey Club and would caution potential diners to be wary if they choose to visit to avoid a tourist trap.

I have dined several times at jockey club. I even bought merchandise from them. But this year was a disappointment. I had remembered fondly how delicious the mussels were, so we ordered them. When they arrived the „feet“ were still attached to 90% of them. My friend and I had 2-3 each that were ok. Then we were digging and digging. It was such a turn off to see such long hard broomlike feet dangling from the mussels. I even tried eating one and it was tough in my mouth. I texted my husband to be sure my suspicions were correct. He confirmed. I decided to bring it to the waitresses attention. She left and got another waitress who returned and informed us this is the way it is and they’re very „fresh“ and she’s „sorry I didn’t like them“. Several days later we ate at cotton beach club on the island and inquired about their mussels before ordering them- he confirmed that of course there wouldn’t be feet and that it’s not normal for them to be attached. After eating properly cleaned mussels I decided to leave this review. It was poor taste for the staff to make us feel like it was our fault they didn’t prepare the mussels properly.
