Cotton Club seems like a very cool place when you check out the website, but it is different on arrival. It is located on a cliff, which makes it difficult to get to. One must park and then walk down a steep hill 150-200 meters. Once at the restaurant the climbing doesn't stop - another long series of steps to get to a small disappointing beach with (for Ibiza) sub-par water. That being said the view is nice.
The restaurant itself is separated into a lower and upper level where Mediterranean fare is served and Asian fare is served respectively. Though they are the same restaurant and everything comes from the same kitchen one cannot sit on the upper flower and order Mediterranean or on the lower and order Asian. Incomprehensible, but true. We sat on the lower level and ordered sushi, which had to be sent back twice as they didn't understand the complicated instructions (I'll have the torched salmon with tobiko, but hold the tobiko - something earth shattering like that) and the salt crusted fish for two. The salt crusted fish was fine. Another word on the dining spaces. If you choose to sit upstairs make sure you wear SPF 1,000 as the shade cover isn't very good and the Ibizan sun is very strong. If you sit in the lower dining room make sure to sit away from the balcony. The restaurant's roof doesn't have much of an overhang and the sun starts blazing into the dining room early in the afternoon (by 2:30 or so the front tables start getting drenched in sunlight). Good luck asking for a different table as they don't seek to be accommodating - a couple next to us were scrunched at one extreme of their table to get away from the sun while a table sat vacant behind them. They were told that the vacant table had been reserved.
Upon leaving, given the sun situation, we asked to request a specific table for a future reservation. They told us they didn't accommodate such requests. Not sure what they meant as they told that sunburnt couple the table behind them had been reserved. In the end we decided to cancel our future reservations as we found places that we much preferred to here.
Good luck managing the beach club maze in Ibiza. If you can, skip...
Read moreCotton Beach Club Ibiza calls itself a first class destination. I call it highway robbery. It is NOT classy, clean or comfortable. We expected the club would be as promised, “chic and exceptional”. Instead, after paying a 390 euro deposit, we arrived to a locked “Club”, no valet parking, and no one to greet or direct us to the beach. There were no changing rooms or showers, and the entrance was littered with trash including a dead bird, rubber gloves, plastic cups, napkins and cigarette butts. The beach attendants were aloof, and offered no help to settle us in on the heavy wooden sun beds/tables which were sloped at uncomfortable angles and difficult to move. Instead, they insisted we pay 10 extra euro for an additional towel, and informed us we would be served a bottle of wine on ice that we did not order or reserve, and could not have it with lunch. That should be illegal!!
At lunch, we explained to a manager that our first impressions of Cotton Beach Club Ibiza were not favorable, and that the entryway to the beach was dirty and uninviting. No one cleaned up. We were surprised that the “club” allowed street hawkers to roam in and out of the “private beach” area, peddling blankets, dresses and massages. It felt unsafe and unrelaxing. Clearly the vendors have a deal with the club as no one stops them. We had to lock our possessions in our car.
As for the Club restaurant, the food was expensive, flavorless and underwhelming, and the table service was slow. The overpriced fish with mediocre sides made for a total lack luster experience. The wait staff were aloof and inattentive.
Given the level of service, amenities and quality of food at this supposed club, one should not waste any money here. Cotton Beach Club detracts is resting on its laurels and discerning patrons should pay heed. There are many superior establishments on Ibiza that are classy, clean and upbeat and stand up to their reputation. This is not...
Read moreThis place is a little jewel on the west side of Ibiza. If you like seafood or sushi (or grilled meats) then you must come here. Overlooking the bay the scene is so perfect you would be planning a wedding here! 😉 We made a lunch reservation and decided to kick off with a mocktail and some Rose sangria which hit the spot perfectly. It was hot, so we weren't sure how hungry we would be but started with some smoked cheese sushi roll and a king crab roll, on the side we tried the scallops in tangerine sauce. Holy moly, absolutely gorgeous and the smoke cheese roll was something I've never tried before but would 100% order again!! We took our time admiring the view and making acquaintances with our neighbouring table (who we forgot to swap out contact details with! If you're reading this please message us and good luck with the big event!).
For dessert we decided on the Coconut creme brulé and the Cotton chocolate and again, amazed at the quality and flavours!
All in all, the service and presentation of this spot is second to none, a must to visit, and when you have done with your gastro-delights, head on down to the beach which is one of the best for lounging and swimming alike! Book a sunbed and just chill with first class service!
Parking is available if you have a booking so drive down to the front and the kind valet will look after...
