La Espiga has made it to the top of my list of restaurants I will revisit during my two weeks on the island. Classy without being pretentious. The focus is exactly where is should be; on the food and the service, the atmosphere taking care of itself. Everything exceeded expectations (and they were high given the unanimous 5 star reviews). The monkfish was cooked to perfection; both meaty and flaky, and perfectly seasoned. The Basque wine recommendation was exquisite, as was the traditional pouring method that is said to “oxygenate” the drink. The cheesecake was creamy and exceptionally well balanced; the best I have ever tasted!
