Very tasty food, big portions and friendly waiters. We ordered the meat platter, the fish, squid salad, tomato salad and the cheese.
Meat platter - great, flavorful, perfectly cooked. It has some fries on the side which tasted awesome.
The fish - probably the tastiest food out of the whole order. Crunchy outside with soft inside, the lime juice really well with it amd emhanced the flavor.
Squid salad - also very tasty, but it's a cold dish. The squid itself was tasty but maybe a little too cold for our liking. Tasted like it was taken straight from the fridge and it was colder than the rest of the salad around it.
Tomato salad - probably the least liked dish in our company. We got olive oil, vinegar and salt with it, didn't use any of them and maybe that would've enhance the flavor, but nevertheless we didn't enjoy it as much compared to other foods.
The cheese - looked and tasted great. It looked like it was baked and we expected it to be hot and stretchy, but it was cold and stiff. Still the taste was great, but we thought it would've been 100x tastier if it was hot.
Overall we had a great lunch, in the end we were all happy with the food and with the friendly staff....
Read moreHighly recommended if you're visiting Taganana and the beaches there! Typical Guachinche who serve "Comida del casa". They offer the variety of dishes with Tenerife character. The fish dishes are specialties, mojo rojo and verde obligatory. Fish of the day is a whole one grilled/fried, the bacalao stew is typical Tenerife. We enjoyed their professional service. 2022-03-19: again I enjoyed their services in the same food way! Before going to the TF8 hike to Afur and playa de T. I started with sweet canarian breakfast and two Barraquito-Coffee's. After my 16km hike I went there for a lot of food and took their specialties like fish of the day, croquetas tunas, panaded mushroom. Highly recommended also the vino del casa roja as you can see on the picture.
Al in all I'll be there again and again. With their service and comidas everything is possible in and around Taganana...
Read moreIt was ok, but the food was hit-and-miss. Most of it was fine, though nothing special. The tuna salad was a low point: big chunks of almost flavourless tuna on a bed of raw onion and green pepper (only). It got passed around the table then left uneaten. The bread was very dry. Other than that, ok. Squid , octopus etc. got the thumbs up, the chips (fries) were very tasty, as were the Canarian potatoes (but can you go wrong with those?). My grilled fresh fish was good but nothing to email my aunt about. Service good if a...
