Read moreThis has been one of my favorite places to go to. Great atmosphere, friendly people serving the food, good honest food, real value for money. And so I now write to the owner in anguish: what have you done with the new staff? There were only 4 tables occupied but we had to wait 20 minutes and still nobody came. I then went inside to ask if anyone was interested in serving us. Our drinks came one by one rather than together. And when the food came, no cutlery was brought, no napkins. We had to ask for all that and when we did, we had to wait 5 minutes before it came. Then after finishing the meal, we asked what’s for desert. the waiter said he would bring the card. We waited and waited. 15 minutes. I went inside. The waiter was on the telephone. He said that he couldn’t get to me but that was half the story before he was on the phone I saw through the window that he was just chatting with friends. Aparantly customers are a second priority. I protested and asked for the bill and warned them. You will destroy this wonderful establishment just because of crappy service. The food was great but because of the crappy service, the experience was bad. so MR. Owner of this place, I ask you: Have a heart to heart talk with your personnel . Your customers deserve better service. Or find the fantastic waitresses you had last year. I sign off as a caring but...
While the food at El Deseo was passable (3 stars), our overall experience was heavily impacted by the slow service and uncompromising staff. Slow dining can be fine, but the dish ordered by one of the members in our group was clearly forgotten about.
Our waitress denied that the order was forgotten, and instead insisted that the chefs in the back were still working on it. Thirty minutes later, and after the rest of us had long finished eating our own meals, the forgotten dish was brought out. Our friend ate the meal alone while the rest of us watched awkwardly.
We thought it fair to see if the dish that was forgotten could be either be discounted or removed from the bill given the bad timing. The restaurant denied any wrongdoing and denied any accommodation or acknowledgement of our frustration and we ended up paying for the forgotten dish in full despite our dissatisfaction with the dining experience.
Overall food was okay, but the poor service left us frustrated and we...
Read moreSo impressed with the whole experience at El Deseo. Restaurants are finally open again and it was so wonderful to start our eating adventures here. Juan made us a tasting platter of unreal Nachos, delicious tacos, ceviche and flutas(hope that's the correct spelling) I rate the nachos as the best I have had worldwide, the ceviche was so fresh and tasty plus I told him that j really wanted tacos and the pulled pork flavours didn't disappoint. Friendly and welcoming staff, sunny terrace vibes in Jesus. Easily 5 stars. Oh and I had a shot of Mezscal for lunch on a Monday. Fun times! We will be back soon...
