Restaurante Le Monde — Restaurant in Santa Eulària des Riu

First of all, this is my personal experience the food and drinks looked good that's why we wanted to eat there and only there. Not everybody will have an experience like this.

It all started when me and my girlfriend arrived at the restaurant. It looked very good, we wanted to grab some tapas and a bottle of wine to relax after a long day. We came to the doorstep of the restaurant and waited to be helped by one of the waiters, but no one came to help us. In front of us was a group of people waiting too with no one to help them. Then I tried to grt the attention of a waiter to ask if we could go sit at a certain table that had no one on it, but he just replied rudly in spanish. So we decieded after 15 minutes to just go sit at a free table. The other group of people saw that we did this and decieded that the waiting was enough and did the same. Then we weren't helped at all. No one came to take orders and all the other customers were looking at us if is we were animals. Then another couple wanted to come eat, and the waiter told them rudly 'the kitchen is closed' (btw it was 4pm). Then he came to us after serving food to another table and said the kitchen is closed. As we walked away, but when we turned around the other group was getting their orders taken. Later we passed the restaurant and the other group of people had food on the table and were eating even tho the kitchen was 'closed'.

Como asiduos y residentes en la isla, siempre hemos recomendado Le Monde a otras personas. Mi marido hizo ayer una reserva por teléfono para llevar allí a nuestro invitado. Cuando llegamos, la camarera, que probablemente no nos conocía, no nos dedicó ni una mirada y, aunque éramos tres, sólo nos dio dos menús y no nos preguntó qué queríamos - por ejemplo, ¿queríamos una copa? Al mismo tiempo, entró una horda de comensales franceses que hablaban tan alto que nos tapamos los oídos. La camarera -que no parecía capaz de sonreír, tal vez tenía un día muy malo u odiaba a. a los invitados y B. su trabajo- no hizo ningún esfuerzo por ser más silenciosa, y tomar pedidos tampoco era su trabajo favorito. Aunque sólo había unos pocos clientes, siempre desaparecía en una habitación trasera durante largos periodos de tiempo, de la que probablemente era reacia a aventurarse a salir. Nuestro invitado se estaba impacientando y no quería comer en un ambiente tan ruidoso, ni que el personal antipático le quitara el apetito que ya había perdido. Así que nos levantamos y nos fuimos. Grité un "adiós" en la oscura trastienda, pero no hubo respuesta. En cuanto salimos por la puerta, la camarera, pequeña y malhumorada, apareció como por arte de magia y nos hizo bajar: ¡no teníamos modales y ni siquiera nos despedimos! - Nos quedamos sin palabras. Y sólo puedo recomendar a la dirección de este restaurante, antes bueno y con un servicio amable, que busque nuevo personal. Después de todo, nos encantaría volver. La próxima vez, nos asomaremos por la rendija de la puerta, y si aparece esa camarera, nos iremos pitando. Una pena. Sólo espero que tenga una buena razón para estar tan malhumorada, como una pelea con su pareja, una muerte en la familia o problemas de salud, que no se los deseamos. Ah, y tampoco queríamos que se dirigieran a nosotros en inglés: vivimos en Baleares desde 1986 y pagamos nuestros...

Upon arrival the lady serving was very kind and helped us to fit our family of 6 (4 little kids) outside. We arrived at 14:15 and after asking several times the food finally came at 15:30. The chef in the kitchen was super annoyed and made it clear that they had a 25 dishes order from another big table. That should not be made our problem. If your kitchen is not equipped for these Numbers don’t Seat any other tables and make them wait for almost 1,5 hours. No one came during the wait to ask if we wanted another round of drinks or maybe just to offer some bread… Nothing! Missed chance and a...
