Made an online reservation, requested a front row seat facing the sea. I arrived a little earlier than my booking, thinking I would go for a swim, but I saw that there were some available tables so asked if I could be seated earlier. I was met with a friendly member of staff (Yolanda, I believe?) who happily showed me directly to a table and gave me an English menu.
I was a little nervous about ordering, as recently I saw some 1* reviews about service and issues with the bill. However, I went ahead and ordered my lunch and hoped for the best. I haven’t been here before, so I cannot compare like some of the other reviews have, but I found my order wonderful. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, a little salt and a generous squeeze of lemon and a generous variety / portion size. The fish itself was delicious. The whole meal was quite large, but I took my time and ate slowly whilst enjoying the views and sunshine.
I personally like places like this, the ones that have the basic plastic seating and sandy wooden floors, paper tablecloths and the sound of people chatting and laughing around me. It’s not about “looking good” or “being fancy” - it’s about focusing on the good things in life, and doing it well.
The beach itself had a lot of seaweed during this visit (18th October) which might be due to the recent bad weather, or maybe it’s always like this. But the beach itself is a lovely view from your table, it’s just not the best sand / quality of others on the island as a beach destination (in my opinion).
When my bill arrived, there was nothing unusual or unexpected. I paid for what I ordered with no add ons or hidden charges.
Thank you for a...
Read moreLeft. Terrible service. Can only assume we got them on an "off night". The restaurant was not busy by any real standard for the number of staff present. We waited over an hour for our starter and that only seemed to be because we prompted them. Our drinks had long been empty by this point and nobody was concerned to offer us a top up. After an hour or so we said we were leaving and we were promised our starter in one minute which did arrive and we did get extra scallops as a gesture. Scallops, if you don't know, do not take much time to consume and once again we were left feeling ignored. At this point we announced we were leaving and settled the bill as to what we had ordered.
The couple next to us apologised on behalf of the establishment as they said they had been diners there for the past seven years and was in their opinion THE best place on the island.
I'm writing this review so restaurant owners can appreciate the importance of customer service. It's so important to make your clients feel at the very least Acknowledged. Most people are reasonable and understand that there are complications and problems - so let us know and our patience can be restored. Leaving us ignored leads only to frustration, annoyance and ultimately a swift exit.
In the end we went to Chirincana by the campsite which was fantastic, the staff were very attentive and had a much...
Read moreAvoid at all costs We went to this restaurant for lunch, expecting a reasonable experience. The paella we chose was listed as “PSM,” while other paellas were clearly priced at around €30 per person. They did not indicate the price of this dish, nor did they consider it important enough to explain. When the bill arrived, we were shocked to see it listed at €95 per person.
We politely asked the general manager to consider a small reduction in the fee given the clear miscommunication, but her response was simply: “either pay or we will call the police.” There was no attempt to resolve the matter fairly.
The food itself was poor quality—we left most of it behind, as the dish was mainly shells with very little meat. The staff were also rude and dismissive throughout.
This is not a restaurant worth your time or money. We’ve eaten far better food in the area for a fraction of the...
