Four of us were looking for somewhere to eat to celebrate a wedding anniversary last night. We came across La Lomoteca and with the wood fire the chef was building for the grill, we instantly liked the look of this place. From the moment we entered we were treated like stars. The place was spotlessly clean too. The owner and his wife were so friendly and helpful and gave us a really personal service without being intrusive. We started with the baked cheese and the beef tongue in vinaigrette. Both were absolutely delicious!! The tongue was a revelation to me. I would never have chosen it, but it was recommended, and I'm so glad we went for it. We then had entrecote with the jacket potatoes and chips. The meat was soft, juicy and delicious. When brought it was extremely pink and undercooked. The staff asked three times if it was ok but unfortunately after recooking, it wasn’t edible (It did not seem to be a particularly good quality piece of meat) and by this time my potato was cold. My second issue was that the menu price was just for the pork so potatoes, vegetables or salad were extra. Unusual I think. Additionally my dinner was served about 10 minutes before my friend’s (I noticed this happened with other diners also) and finally my friend found his steak to be tough. We paid the bill which was over 50 euros. A very disappointing experience for us and we left...
Read moreWe went here on a Sunday night, and had an amazing dinner. The meat was cooked to perfection and the sides were also very tasty. The young man who served us was really polite and knew what he was talking about in regard to the food. Although we speak Spanish the staff all speak fluently English. Bit more expensive than the rest of the restaurants in Santa Pola but this doesn’t matter since the food is good. I’d rather pay a bit more for good food, than pay less...
