We made a reservation for my daughter’s 18th birthday for 6 people for July 15th about a week ahead of time. I called during the week to confirm and to ask about a vegan cake for our daughter. We were told that they weren’t sure if they could bake a cake because they didn’t know how many customers they would have that day. It was an odd response, but with limited options, I told them that I would bring candles and place them on whatever dessert they had that day. We all showed up on July 15th to celebrate our daughter’s birthday, and the restaurant was completely closed. No one called us ahead of time to cancel despite having our local phone number. Way to ruin someone’s 18th birthday lunch! I am fluent in Spanish and this was not a case of “misunderstanding the hostess”. Terrible terrible terrible way to treat customers. My brother is a vegan and as this was the only true vegan restaurant in Santander, we tried it . I am not vegan but the food was really good, home made and tasty . The starter was unusual in the combination, Vegetable soup with a Salad , but both were very tasty. My brother had the Lasagna main , I had the meat balls in tomato sauce with rice. Lovely home-style vegan restaurant in Santander. The owner is a lovely lady who was chatting with us and makes us feel like home. Talking about the food, we tried several items in the me menu, for example the lasagna is simply amazing, is a must if you stop by! Also the veggie hamburgers were a delight.
