Pambolieria Es Pontàs — Restaurant in Santanyí

TLDR: Long waiting time to order, receive food and menu, the most awful burger I had in my entire life. Cosy, clean place with nice atmosphere.

Extremely, and I mean it, EXTREMELY disappointed with our visit here. I completely don't understand the high rating of this restaurant looking at the Google reviews (and at the moment of writing this review, note of 4,6) given that it lacks in basically every aspect. Firstly, we came and sat at the table outside - immediately being "told off" that we cannot sit there since the place is reserved. There were no placard, table or whatsoever stating the place is reserved (on the other tables there was such information visible) but okay, that was not the biggest problem. The initial problem was the attitude of the waiter serving us later on as we immediately felt like we were not welcome just because we sat at the "incorrect table". The attitude changed during the visit and eventually it was OKAY. We eventually got the table and sat there waiting for at least 10 minutes just to get the menu while other guests around were being served (table next to us was attended three times while we waited just to be served the menu). After making up our mind and waiting another ten minutes different waiter approached us - we tried making an order but we were told we are only able to order drinks because he is responsible only for the drinks (!!!) and with regards to the food we have to wait for his colleague. After 20+ minutes from the time we arrived at this restaurant we finally could place an order for food and... one of the food items we chose was not available. We were not told about it at the moment we were served the menu (which would have been useful information since then we could make other choices). We received drinks shortly afterwards, food came 25 minutes later (50 minutes elapsed since we arrived at the restaurant). I ordered pasta with shrimps, garlic, spinach and tomatoes. There were plenty of shrimps, fresh and nicely prepared but pasta was prepared in "asia-style" which was not something I expected. The burger which my partner ordered was completely inedible when it comes to meat. I have never eaten in my entire life such weird tasting patty - meat felt like it was minced at least couple of times (very small "grains" of meat), it was not prepared according to the order (which was supposed to be medium but instead felt like it was done) and was packed with so many spices that you basically couldn't taste the meat but just weird combination of sweet and spicy spices - certainly not "premium burger" as it was named in the menu. We honestly waited to be asked by one of our waiters if we like our meals but that moment never came - in the last dozen of visit at different restaurants every time someone asks whether you like your meal or not - well, we assumed it is standard but it is definitely not here. From positive sides, lovely decorated place, very clean, nice looks of the dish and looks like this place has a lovely spirit. What a shame that the taste of the dishes and service doesn't match the looks...

I will let this feedback for the service that was totally disappointing. It's such a pity for the food that was really good, at least the one that came, because two of us didn't receive the dishes. After 2h of waiting, asking for 2 or 3 times about the status, we've been told it takes 20 minutes more...for 2 portions of shrimps...after a part of the grup finishing eating, we decided to cancel the waiting and to leave the place. One of the waitresses was polite and tried to offer to us some desert but we just wanted to not waiting anymore for anything. Instead, we asked if is any possibility to offer us a discount from the check for the unpleasant situation. She said she will ask the manager. Another good minutes of waiting. The other waitress that was in charge of our table instead, she had a totally rude attitude, explaining that is not her fault, she cannot take anything from the check and if we don't pay she calls for the police. This is not the best attitude to have it for someone that masses it up with her service and definitely not the way to approch some people that in the end, came with their best friends to celebrate some special event in a vacation and to have a nice experience in a cute restaurant. We ended up watching the others from the table eating and having a fight with a waitress threatening us with the police, and all because we asked for a discount for the unpleasant situation and for asking to talk with the manager and being refused. Totally...
