Bar Arepera kilómetro 101. El funchal — Restaurant in Santiago del Teide

You would not recognize this place as the best in the area without knowing it... First we saw it from the car as we passed through SdT we were unsure to choose it for our dinner with kids. It was probably only because it might have looked a bit as a cheap bistro. We stopped in front of some other restaurant. Bigger, looking regular, but we rather took the chance to check the ratings for that place and they were very poor. You know what... the best ratings were placed for Arepera, which we would not choose first... This surprised us but also pleased us, so we drove back to reach this place. Our waiter was the coolest guy with an awesome enthusiasm. His english was not good, but he showed us everything he could not explain in english with hand and leg, recomended the food, was very quick and still smilling or even laughing. And the food... I was blown away by every single piece. We ordered a variety of food to be able to feed the kids if they weren't satisfied with this or that.. you know kids and trying new stuff... And I guess we've succeded:) The service in this bar is handled by people of Venezuela and I must take a bow before their good job. Thumbs up #arepera #101km...

This place serves the best Arepas I’ve ever had!

I came back multiple times just for them and made sure to try (pretty much) all the flavors, my recommendation would be the black bean one.

The staff are some of the most friendly I’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering. The waiter was so happy and was smiling all the time making the place seem so welcoming.

They do a alcohol free lemon beer which I recommend if you’re not drinking as well.

All in all the restaurant is humble and cosy, the Arepas are the best I’ve had, the staff are extremely friendly and the location is lovely.

Arrived during it was relatively crowded. After one couple left the table we asked the waiter to sit down but he did not allowed us and let us wait for couple minutes standing on the street. After a 2nd table becomes free, he let us sit there. This table was still uncleaned ! Okay, no problem...

We cleaned it self and waited about 15 min till he came back but he did not. After a biker group of locales, who camed after us, was served before us, we just left this freak show of...
