Bar Ecus — Restaurant in Segorbe

Just arrived in the city today having driven down from Santander and headed out to find somewhere to eat. It’s our first time driving around Spain so we are maybe off the beaten track but have been to the holiday hot spots many times. We sat on the periphery of the seating area as we had a small and very friendly dog! Sadly we were met with what seemed like hostility. Now I appreciate we don’t speak Spanish other than please, thank you and can we have the bill please but we used google translate to work out what we wanted on the menu and how we wanted our steaks cooked. We ordered entrecôte streak with chips/potatoes and that is exactly what we got - no veg, no garnish and certainly no finesse! As for the service…. Well what can I say! I have worked in hospitality and if my staff treated my customers like that then they would no longer be working for me!!! Very disappointed to say...

Le doy una estrella porque sino no me deja publicar. Mi experiencia fue indignante, pedí un solomillo con crema de almendras, de la carta a 9'00€ el plato, y me pusieron la misma porción que se pone en ese plato dentro del menú (cuando obviamente en los menús siempre son porciones más pequeñas ya que hay primero y segundo, cualquier persona que halla ejercido en la hostelería sabe esto perfectamente) Además que encima, comieron todos los de mi mesa y yo no comí hasta que llegó el segundo plato de ellos. Cuando le comenté este asunto al camarero a la hora de pagar, aún por encima se cree tener la razón y se pone conteston y a hablarme con chulería, cuando yo intentaba explicarle a este supuesto camarero simplemente que es imposible que mi plato llevará la misma porción que la del menú y yo esté pagando más, con lo cual al final le pedí que viniera el jefe, quien encima me confirma con estas palabras textuales que "Nosotros trabajamos aquí asi" pues quiero dejar avisado a todo aquel que pase por ese lugar que si vas a pedir un solomillo con crema de almendras pídelo de menú, porque te están estafando pidiéndolo de la carta y si estafan con este plato a saber con qué más estafan. Y obviamente me fui con hambre e indignada por el trato y el servicio, que también una de las veces se le pidió más vasos al camarero y no hizo ni caso. Ya de último añado, que dejo tremendo comentario porque yo soy camarera habiendo ejercido ya 14 años en la hostelería en diferentes partes de España y se perfectamente de que hablo, y es indignante recibir este servicio y que se hagan llamar camareros o empresarios, cuando no tienen ni idea de cómo hacer...

After walking from Jérica to Segorbe, we were just fry. Bar Ecus didn’t disappoint. The croquetas and bacalao were the tapa of the day and we finished every bite. Two of us had the rice with squid and artichokes. The other had a bocadillo medio of the piolín (chicken) and another half of the chivito bocadillo. They were pretty large and one would have been fine. We enjoyed a bottle of Verdejo and a few desserts. All in all great food and...
