Punto Italia — Restaurant in Son Servera

We were looking for a place called Pelayo, which - according to trip advisor - was supposed to be a nice tapas restaurant. We found this place instead (but later saw on my transaction receipt it was still named Pelayo). Still decided to sit down. We went for tapas (in a supposedly Italian Restaurant… bad choice I guess). Here’s our review:

The good: Pakistani host is very friendly. Location is also fine.

The bad: Food is just not good. I suspect most dishes are just heated frozen food. The pulpo was burned. The pan de ajo was a simple, microwaved piece of bread soggy because of the enormous quantity of butter: It was absolutely disgusting. The calamares and croquetas were definitely fried/heated frozen foods. The papas bravas were french fries with a sauce made of ketchup mixed with something spicy. The goat cheese was also just fried slightly and put on a large bed of the most bland iceberg lettuce. The bruschetta was a pizza base with some sliced tomato and rocket thrown on it. We had spaghetti aglio e olio for the kids, but we had to take out about 15 gigantic chunks of garlic, it had pieces of tomato in there, it was also very buttery and there was no parsley in it at all: just like the bruschetta, not Italian at all.

Verdict: I’m sorry for the host who was kind and helpful, but do not eat here. We - the adults - very much disliked the food. However, the bad feeling comes when you have to feed it to your children. We could’ve made a better choice in a place like Cala Millor with so many better restaurants so close by....

Reasonable pricing, great location, decent service, and quite good food (although we only tried simple, fried tapas). However, it’s not authentic Italian, maybe other dishes (like Pizza) were better?

Atmosphere (indoors) was quite random, depressing music for instance, and there was a cot in the middle of restaurant. The WC and indoor areas need a little refurbishing.

I think four stars is a fair reflection of this decent, family run place - it...

I guess I should blame myself for ordering tapas at an Italian restaurant but the tortilla and goat cheese was the worse I ever had! The food was bland, the plate full of lettuce to complement for the lack of taste (?) and the service was not very friendly either, with a server who couldn't even speak Spanish :( Lovely view though, so might be a nice...
