Nothing but pretentious!
It appears that the owner or mind behind the restaurant’s direction is deeply influenced by St Tropez; however, Port Verd is no St Tropez.
Having critiqued restaurants for a living for 3 decades, I am obliged to comment on this one because of the mediocre experience.
Also having read the bad reviews, it was clear that many guests had experienced the same level of service and food that didn’t meet expectations or the claims the restaurant makes on its website
First, I chose an early dinner because I wanted an amazing experience since I specifically booked for a special birthday. It was also our 10th year anniversary but I didn’t want to make it over the top, but for us, it was a big deal. So a table with a view was my only request.
We were immediately placed at the end corner with the naughty kids. Literally. We were surrounded by table with young kids, all on their phones and tablets, most taking over the « romantic view », a bit too loud too. Parents with torn short and flip flops felt like I booked the wrong place.
Two ladies behind us asked to be moved mid-dinner to a table right at the edge which was just vacated. By the time we finished our mains, there were exactly 12 tables empty. I requested to move to a table closer to the edge and I was told in a very nonchalant tone that the restaurant is fully booked and it’s impossible for them to accommodate my request. By the time we left 4 tables which had been emptied by guests, had never been cleared, left abandoned for over an hour or two.
Now, the food. The garlic prawns were nicely cooked, swimming in oil with quite a nice amount of sliced garlic. I ordered the squid thinking that it would be nicely grilled as so common in most beach restaurants (there is minimal explanation of dishes on the menu, which you must access from your phone!!!). It arrived battered and deep fried, it had no flavour at all. I used the leftover so-called aioli (direct from the tub, with a faint flavour of garlic) from the « bread cover ».The octopus salad was a mixture of crushed potatoes some cooked, some less, again tossed in mayonnaise and covered by smoked paprika. There were a total of 4 octopus slices, which all fit nicely in a single tablespoon. The John Dory also arrived deep fried with deep fried onion rings and four tiny dollops of parsley purée. The chateaubriand for two is a joke. Period!
€8 for 6 baby potatoes is a bit pushing since seasoning was also absent.
The desserts were okay, the cheesecake was melting nicely (not sure if it was set at all), while the lemon pie had less than a teaspoon of curd topped with a huge dome of Italian meringue. Overly sweet, so having the curd covering the whole crust would have been very welcomed, the curd was only piped on the edges of the crust. The middle was just meringue and shortcrust.
The organic rosé was very nice.
What disappointed me the most is that after having requested to move table, the service changed from passable to mediocre. For Sa Punta, tonight wasn’t anything to be proud of. For some reason the waiter dropped the dessert in front of me like I was someone he knew and probably didn’t like.
The disconnect between the expectations and actual service looking at the final bill is not an evening I want to repeat. It is an overpriced, over pretentious beach restaurant with nothing to justify its price, not even the tap water charged at 6€ the bottle. I wasn’t bottled water! It arrived without cap or lid and the taste of chlorine was far too overpowering.
The service left a lot to be desired. Expecting way more. I was shocked to be served the next dish in less that 6 minutes. The waiters rush you around, perhaps in a way to get you quickly out… unacceptable.
And about the birthday… well, it’s like the atmosphere! Inexistant! For the staff it was just another Tuesday.
Zero attention to detail, overall poor quality food prepared without love or passion;...

Firstly I must highlight the live music was impeccable, some great tunes that supported the mood well without drowning out the evening. The location is also good.
The pork pluma was lovely, but for €27 and about 5 baby potatoes and a few slices of veg one would've expected more. Side dishes werent even on the menu so we assumed there'd be enough, but clearly not.
The black rice with cuttlefish, octopus, squid with parsley mayo was overpowered by squid ink, it could've done with a touch of acidity to round it off.
Not only were we charged €3.50 per person for a slice of bread, but one of us received a small end piece not fit for serving.
What really made us uncomfortable especially for an establishment that is supposedly upmarket was when the server put down the dish tray before everyone had finished. The place wasn't busy so it was strange they were so eager to clear the table before some of us had even finished.
They also forgot to ask me for a a sauce to accompany my dish despite asking everyone else. When they realised this, they only managed to bring the sauce over after I had finished eating. They kindly removed this from the order but I wasnt going to let my food go cold for a sauce.
One of us ordered an americano at the end and requested some milk separately, only to be chastised by the waiter that he should've ordered a coffee con leche. This was simply not what he wanted and we'd have appreciated if he'd respected our friends wishes rather than telling him what is or isn't an americano with milk and what it should or shouldn't be.
Such a shame as we were looking forward to this, especially with Nadal's family and the prices charged we'd naturally expect the quality and quantity of food and standard of service to reflect accordingly but we were...
Read moreMe and my hubby went for our anniversary dinner, as a luxurious high end restaurant it was everything expected and more.
The location and surroundings create like a blissful beautiful oasis where the restaurant is, absolutely stunning outdoor dining areas as there is few. Inside is totally immaculate beautiful white decor, very calming, lovely ambiance with nice music.
Service top class, loved the menu, we shared tuna tartare for starter as its was a very big portion and it was seriously THE BEST we have ever tried, the mix of flavours and the high quality tuna was EXCEPTIONAL!
For main we shared chateaubriand , loved the idea of cooking slices of steak on hot stone right at the table and it was melting in the mouth. Just be aware it only comes with boiled potatoes but we didn’t mind as the steak was very filling. The red wine sauce for the steak was also beyond delicious and silky smooth texture.
The baked cheesecake for the desert was on another level, most devine flavour and sublime texture that felt like heaven in your mouth!
Wine choice was lovely, however that’s something the restaurant has change in our opinion is when you order wine by the glass the measure is less then a small glass you would get everywhere else, which is not enough if you pay €9 definitely has to change as it’s not worth at all to buy by glass for only few sips.
If you choose to visit this stunning restaurant be prepared to spend money, but it’s going to...
