I had the pleasure of visiting Aloo Tapas Bar shortly after its opening, and it’s such a cosy little spot with bar stools lining the long bar. The décor is tastefully done, with lovely artwork that adds to the warm, welcoming atmosphere.
We began with the tomato salad with cheese, very tasty, especially the olive oil which was full of flavour and really elevated the dish. The tortilla with avocado was a first for me, and I have to say it was a revelation — beautifully cooked with a creamy centre, neither too runny nor too firm. I only wish they served it in London! The bacalhau was another highlight, accompanied by traditional Canarian potatoes that paired perfectly with the fish, while the onion rings were light and delicious. The warm bread was also ideal for mopping up the leftover sauces and enjoying every last bit. The overall standard of the food was excellent, with real care evident in each dish.
