Update March 24: Wow. We came back to Sabor de la India with great expectations remembering the previous experience. What a disappointment! Although we booked a table and showed up at the right time, we had to wait 15 mins to be seated. The waiters were extremely slow, grumpy and unpleasant. After waiting for more than 30 mins for someone to attend us, we asked for some starters, but the guy insisted that we made a wrong choice and pushed us to take a combination of three salsas. When it arrived, first it was a different thing, and second it looked like it was recycled from someone else's table. When we complained we got a nervous answer that they are out of mint leaves and of flour, so we should take what we got and next time he'll gives us two salsas with mint. Oook?! Similar thing repeated when we ordered tge main course. Apoarently many thing from the menu were not available, but instead saying it directly, we got "advices". For the main course we waited another eternity. All three curries were served rather cold and tasted as they just came out of a microwave. Little candle may help to keep warm already hot sauce, but it cannot warm up something already too cold. Naan's were as good as before. Anyway, despite the excellent first experience, we will avoid this restaurant in the future. What we had there and how we were treated is not worth the price.
Fantastic experience. Certainly the best indian restaurant in the island and one of the best I have ever tried. Everything was delicious with many deep and complex flavors. It is not a cheap place, but the prices are absolutely fair and well adjusted. And the atmosphere is very nice, both indoor...
Read moreMy family and I discovered Sabor de la India a few months ago, and we've been going fairly regularly now. Firstly, the food is absolutely delicious. We always get the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Vindaloo with garlic rice and garlic naan. YUM. If you like it spicy, they really know how to add the kick! If you like it spicy but not crying, I suggest the "madras" level. If you want to sweat, go for the "vindaloo." My daughter likes the samosas, daal, nuggets, pakoras, aubergine... lots of things for kids to choose from, too. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is very, very friendly. We've always had excellent service. Oh and the outside garden is gorgeous! Beautiful trees and flowers everywhere. Now that summer is here, we're looking forward to eating out on the patio. If you like Indian food, this is your spot. Lastly, if you happen to be a foreigner (we're American) and prefer to eat dinner before 8 or 9 pm, they're open nonstop all day so you can dine at 6 or 7pm (a rarity in the North!). Sometimes (like on school nights), we'll just order takeout. They're always very pleasant, professional, and accommodating...
Read moreA Culinary Masterpiece, Far Beyond Expectations!
As a German tourist visiting Tenerife, I had the immense pleasure of dining at this exceptional Indian restaurant. The moment I stepped in, I was welcomed by the warm ambience and friendly service that exceeded my expectations. The diverse menu was filled with a variety of Indian dishes, each more tempting than the last.
I tried a selection of dishes, each rich in flavor and authentically Indian, which transported me straight to the heart of India. The Tandoori Chicken was succulent and expertly spiced, while the Paneer Tikka melted in my mouth. The Naan bread was soft, buttery, and the perfect accompaniment to the deliciously creamy Dal Makhani.
The staff were attentive and courteous, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. They were also knowledgeable about the dishes and helped recommend options based on our preferences.
This is not just a restaurant, but a culinary journey that engages all your senses. I highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable Indian dining experience in Tenerife. Five stars,...
