Apparently, not many people visit Tarazona, but it is well worth a stop, and this hotel is well worth the effort to find. La Merced de la Concordia is just a few steps from Plaza Espana (the best place to park a car), and a thoroughly modern interior hides within its charmingly old facade. The hotel is a good starting point for self-guided walking tours of the town, and the single staff person--whose English was sufficient for our needs--helpfully oriented us to both the building and the areas nearby. An ample breakfast of meats, cheeses, fruits, yogurt, and pastries was included in our room rate, and in good weather, an enclosed patio beckons. We did not dine in the restaurant, so I cannot comment on that aspect. We booked a standard room which included breakfast for 69E, were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the suit, room 7. However the only downsize was, that after settling in, it was a room which permitted smoking. We thought this had been stopped many years ago. The smell of smoke which was off putting but after opening the windows and turning on the AC it subsided. So if this concerns you avoid room 7. ||The Hotel generally was very modern, the room clean and comfortable with a super suize king bed. Internet worked efficiently, it was quiet and a stocked free mini bar. Next door to the Plaza de Espana and the stunning Jewish Quarter the hotel is a true finding. The rooms are spacious, modern and comfortable. The free refreshments at the minibar are welcome after a road trip.
