The location of this restaurant is great, right on the beach in a little hut that's decorated with old pictures from Tazacorte and the surrounding area. The food is equally great: tasty, fresh with a fairly good selection. Unfortunately, the service was so dismal, it eclipsed all the positives I just described. The first issue was the menu. It's an online one that you download by scanning a bar code. While ordering the croquetas the waiter mentioned the price was 1.50 € per croqueta, but the menu stated the price as 1€ per croqueta. To be fair, he gave us the croquetas at the menu price, but most people wouldn't think to ask if the menu price is correct or not (and it's an online menu which can be updated in less time than it took me to write this review!) And depending on how many croquetas they get, it can quickly add up. We ordered, and I understand it was late in the day (they told us they would close the kitchen after our order) but the food took forever. We ordered starters before our meal (croquetas and garlic bread) and it took so long we finally had to ask the waiter if he could bring the croquetas. He said he would, but he didn't and eventually my sister went to the back and saw the croquetas on the counter. When she asked him about it he pointed at them and said "there they are". My daughter felt sick, so I had to take her home (we live nearby) and asked for a takeaway box. The waiter said he would get me one, then started drying silverware instead. I finally asked a waitress, who did get me the box. All in all, it left us with the feeling like we were more of a bother than anything. Not something you want when you're paying to eat out. We will...
Read moreThe lasagna was from the freezer. It was truly horrible. Cold in the center and lacking taste. If you want to state that you serve fastfood, than adjust your prices or just put on the menu that your lasagne is not fresh. It's not very obvious from how you present your restaurant from the outside. I told you how I think about your lasagne: a sin to the Italian kitchen. It sucked. Your answer reflected the stupidity of this restaurant: 'I don't understand'. Seriously, you don't even want to eat your own lasagna. Believe me. Try it. Such an unpleasant mouthfeel. Such a shame since it has the potential to be...
Read moreWe use to start and/or finish our stays in the Aridane valley here. Fine fresh sea food, lots of different fish a la plancha with papas arrugadas and regional vegetables. The gambas al ajillo are excellent as well as the calamares! Friendly service (Spanish, English). The restaurant is right next to the promenade at the beach. Homey and traditional interior, terrace around the house with trees and parasols and the usual begging critters strolling through. 😉 A typical place, very gemütlich! In Puerto de Tazacorte you will hardly find a parking on a sunny afternoon, but the place is...
