BEWARE!

It’s a good restaurant l, but it’s MISLEADING. We bought 3 menus of the day that includes a side dish, a main plate, dessert and it also “includes” wine, water, or sparkling water.

Everything was fine, the waiter explained to us about the drinks and we chose 2 wines and 1 sparkling water.

The food was fine, and the waiting was okay having in mind that there’s only one waiter for the whole dinner room.

The MISLEADING part was at the end when I went to pay, they charged me the 3 menus but as an extra the wines and the water. I told him that we order those drinks as part of the menu, but he acted rude and told me we didn’t specified that we wanted the wines and the sparkling water that was in the menu, so he gave us another type of wine and another “type of sparkling water”. I argued that we ordered the wines and the water just because it was included in the menu, if we knew about the extra charge, we would have order a soda or beer.

The most expensive menú del dia we’ve had in 7 months in Spain. This is because the wine wasn’t included (very unusually). Now when we looked at the menu it wasn’t included, so ‘fair enough’, we thought. How much can those glasses of poor quality white be when it’s €3 per glass in touristy central Toledo and not much more in fancy wine bars for quality wine in Madrid? FOUR EUROS PER GLASS. Yes, €4 per dreadful wine, per glass sneakily added to the bill. Not sure if it was an error or they assumed we were tourists but the result was the same....

Nos ha encantado, es un lugar muy familiar, acogedor, el trato es fantástico, me recordó a Cádiz, donde cuando entras, la gente saluda a todos y no se sienta sin más, la comida de 10, empezamos con dos botellines de cerveza y una tapa de tortilla de patatas, muy rica, nos pusieron sobres de mahonesa y ketchup de la marca chovi, y al rato pedimos el menú, pues habíamos entrado muy temprano, de primero nos pedimos champiñones con huevo y jamón, insuperable, y paella mixta, que te venía con pollo, gambas, cigala, verduras, genial, de segundo un bacalao con tomate, el tomate frito era casero y te ponían patatas fritas cortadas por ellos, nada de las congeladas, el bacalao super tierno y a penas tenía espinas, y albóndigas a la jardinera, súper buenas, de postre tarta de queso, bastante rica y jugosa y torrijas, que nos encantó, se parecía mucho a las que hago yo, por supuesto volveremos, nos salió todos, 3 cervezas, 2 tapas de tortilla y 2...
