It's a bridge. Very pretty. Scenic. But it wasn't extraordinary. I hiked from the bus stop and went up the UNENDING flight of stairs to get to just the small plaza, only realizing that I still had to hike a LONG way to get to the Alcazar. I would not do it again. But if you are light on your feet, and doing the "fitness adventure" by all means. Otherwise, leave the train station go to main street in front, get on the bus and go up to main square. Save those feet. Trust me. There were scenic spots to take pictures along the way, so that may be another reason. Again, would not do it a...

A day visiting the UNESCO rated hilltop city of Toledo with its cathedral and Alcazar. To be honest though whoever thought of building a cathedral at the top of a 500m hill and the car park at the bottom needs speaking to. At least they put in escalators all the way to the top though (honest 🤷). Stunning, stunning place.

The views from Alcantara bridge are a bit special so don’t miss a visit to that!

World Heritage Sites. No 5. Historic City of Toledo. A Roman municipium, the capital of the Visigothic Kingdom, a fortress of the Emirate of Cordoba, an outpost of the Christian kingdoms...

If this isn’t the best view of Toledo, I don’t know what is. It’s awesome taking a little walk from the train station to the town as there is no way you will miss this. It’s huge and it’s so historic. I was very excited about it as I was walking up and so was everyone else as this is a great photo op. I suggest you take a little time and pay attention to some of the detail work here and really admire the work it took to construct this. You’ll really be happy that you did while everyone else is just walking by and missing out on some of the...

The Alcantara gate dates back to the X century, located on the eastern side of Toledo's surrounding wall across the Alcantara bridge. Don't forget to climb up to the top: there you can catch magnificent pictures of the gates themselves, Tagus river, Alcantara bridge (its western tower in particular) as well as the Castle of San Servando on the opposite bank. Be careful walking the walls as there are no guardrails.

Beautiful at night, not crowded these days and off the season (December). Not sure if the lightning is temporary and only for Xmas but it adds nice effect. Also, nice view of the valley and river Tajo. You can start walking around Toledo from that bridge; beautiful hike that would take you 2-3 hours but definitely worthwhile as it gives you panoramic view of the old city.
