Restaurante Fenicia — Restaurant in Torremolinos

The food was great and Samer (the owner) was the perfect host. We were on the lookout for halal food and found this restaurant on Google Maps very close to our hotel. The rating was very good and the food was confirmed halal. The restaurant owner gave us tips what to order and he nailed it. He reassured us that everything is freshly made. We enjoyed the mezze which included starters and 3 skewers (chicken, kofte and lamb meat) along with hummus, tabbuleh salad, cheese pastries and kibbe. We also ordered batata harrah (spicey potato cubes) and drinks. We also tried the dessert qatayef (pancake filled with walnuts) and had delicious green tea. As a middle easterner I felt kibbeh, pastries, potatos and hummus were fresh and authentic. Meat was succulent and overall nicely grilled. The food delicious!! Started with Baba ghanoush with freshly baked bread which was so tasty! Reminded me of of my childhood in Lebanon 🇱🇧. After we had the mixed grill plate ( the meat / chicken was soft and tasty ) with bit tabbouleh, hummus and garlic sauce. It was a PERFECT plate. As a dessert we had Qatayef (stuffed with Walnuts) and cream the taste will take back to Lebanon 🇱🇧!!

The Service is fantastic and very welcoming! The restaurant owner is a very nice and friendly, we had a lovely conversation and he explained the history or restaurant and his passion for cooking and Lebanese food .

We arrived a little after opening at 19:30, only 2 customers in the restaurant. Which made the atmosphere quiet, slightly awkward engagement with waiter who struggles to communicate the food they are selling to us. We were looking forward to trying something different, Lebanese. Food was very nice, just the right amount, not overwhelming. Bit disappointed with limited "Med Veg" which we thought would have been a big feature of this style restaurant?
