Since me and my boyfriend arrived at Torremolinos we have been chasen by the waiting staff every time we were walking by the coast for two days. On the third day we decided to take a risk and go in. That was an instant regret. After we were seated we could start 'enjoying' the smell of an old oil. We had to wait for our drinks nealy 20 minutes, but more surprising was information on the menu that we will be charged 1€ for the cutlery per person. Mine was dirty by the way and when I asked for replacing them waiter did it very unhappily without any apologies. My boyfriend ordered pil-pil croquettes which is 6 small pieces served with loads of chips (ridiculous). After that he got his sirloin steak which he ordered medium, but it came not even close to medium rare, still cold inside and that was frozen meat, not even defrosted before service. Loads of chips, no sauce. I got a goat cheese salad which is a huge portion of everything what you can find on the salad bar, without any idea. For main course I choose something called in menu chicken escalopes, but it was very difficult to find a piece of chicken inside of this huge portion of deep fried bread crumbs. Again loads of chips and huge portion of vegetables like they need to get rid of them only because they ordered too much. Wouldn't go there anymore even if we're starving. Muy...
Read moreI was living in Torremolinos last year’s November and I was dining here pretty often. They had very good paellas and sardinas, very fairly priced. I came back this August for few days and sadly I got ‘tourist trapped’ the first day. Without checking on the menu, I got talked to order a “fish plate” by the nice waiter and I guess my good memories of this place spoiled my senses. Me and my friend paid €60 for a plate of salad (with corn and tomato), deep fried French fries and one grilled fish. Shocked by the check, we asked the waiter to show us that position on the menu. He showed us “Dorada €28” but he added it was per person. With the sides it was €30 per person (the same one fish). I started to wonder if they make it €90 for 3 people, €120 for 4 people etc. with the same one fish to share… obviously not, so I took it as an obvious money grab (they were at their closing hours).
I felt cheated so I won’t visit anymore, sadly. But the food is good there and the prices are generally fair (sardinas €4). So go there and try, just pay extra attention to the pricing of what you order. Especially if you are not a native...
Read moreAvoid at all costs. Disgusting service! My wife and I had lunch here today, and upon finding a piece of plastic in my mouth from a smoothie i immediately looked inside the cup and found several more larger pieces, at this point I felt sick to my stomach as I had drank most of the smoothie already. I assumed it was blended into the drink by accident. We told the waiter who took the glass without any apology, the bill came back with the smoothie on it and again no apology, we asked about it and he responded “ you drank the drink” yes we drank it! Which is the worse part because we had no idea until almost the end where bigger chunks of it had settled. He responded to us like there was nothing wrong and we were the problem. Told us a very rude goodbye after saying €5 is nothing and we can have it off and that we could write a review. We agree €5 is nothing! After swallowing a cup full of plastic. The most disgusting we have ever been treated. This place needs to be shut down. My only regret was not taking a picture, but after explaining he had quickly...
