Restaurant Review: Gaston (Under New Management)
Upon visiting Gaston under its new ownership, our experience, regrettably, fell short of expectations.
The initial reception was notably hectic. After some confusion, we were eventually shown to a table and placed our order, though the process was considerably slow. When I approached the bar for a second time to request a drink pairing for our starter, the response was curt and dismissive: "I'll get to it when I can â you can see how busy I am." Consequently, we proceeded with our starter without any beverages, which diminished the overall dining experience.
The main courses followed but did little to redeem the evening. The schnitzel, expected to be gently butter-fried to golden perfection, was instead deep-fried and unfortunately undercooked, with raw pork visible at the center â an unacceptable oversight. The fish and chips offered a small, underwhelming piece of fish, hardly satisfying even by modest standards.
It was disheartening to observe a lack of culinary finesse and attention to detail in both preparation and presentation. The hamburger plate featured a generic, factory-made patty rather than a house-made creation, accompanied by a basic serving of fries, lacking any particular character.
In summary, Gaston, under its current management, displays a concerning lack of gastronomic understanding and hospitality. It is our sincere hope that improvements are made to match the potential of this...
   Read moreOn minday 10th November, we had went for a meal. My friend ordered a vegetarian pizza, had olives on it (whole green), which was not advised on ordering. She bit into a slice and her filling actually fell out. The olives weren't even stoned. On speaking to a staff member, he explained there was no one there to speak to and said we could have a shot on the house as an apology. Was dealt with very badly. The same staff member was drinking in between serving. As I work in the hospitality industry myself this was certainly very unprofessional. Will never dine here again and 100% will never ever recommend. Very expensive meal considering there has to be now a dentist appointment to be made. This was our 4th time to eat here as we had been here on holidays twice in the space of 6 months....

Efter stora diskussioner sĂ„ sa vi att vi ville prata med den svenska Ă€garen som ( naturligtvis) inte var dĂ€r pĂ„ kvĂ€llen ( helt ok). Efter mycket diskussioner sĂ„ ville vi bara dĂ€rifrĂ„n och efter mycket diskussioner med 2 servitriser sĂ„ efter mycket om o men sĂ„ tog de bort priset pĂ„ min svarta brĂ€nda ( smaka brĂ€nt) snitzel. Vi betalade notan o berĂ€ttade vi vad vi tyckte om mat o tillmötesgĂ„ende !! En av servitriserna ( liten glasögon prydd kvinna ) stod kvar o bad oss om ursĂ€kt för mat o deras bemötande.
