Alba Restaurante — Restaurant in Torroella de Montgrí

DO NOT EAT HERE! worst meal I’ve ever had anywhere. Inedible pate, onion soup just onions boiled in water, duck breast just raw fat and over cooked meat (4 thin slices is not a full breast!) champagne sauce was just bland unseasoned cream. The wild boar was disgustingly tough and tasted off. No query from waitress why plates were taken away uneaten. Alarm bells started the minute we sat down and waited 20 minutes to be offered a drink and menus, even though we’d reserved a table earlier in the day. Paella menu and pizza menu were both from a prepared frozen ready meal supplier. It’s a lovely location on the square by the church. Just have a drink outside there. And avoid eating at all costs! Nothing was taken off our bill and no apologies made! Unforgivably bad...

good: the food, the presentation of the food, the variety of the food, the price of the food, the location of the restaurant, has a nice terrace and a nice decorated indoor dinning place, the boss of the waiters was a woman who you could tell has been working for a long time as one, really a professional on both how she organized the other waiters and how she handled herself with my family.

bad: the rest waiters were either temps or just didn't want to work, responding with I don't know to my family's questions and simply lacking waiter abilities other than...

Brilliant atmosphere in the central square with fantastic food not the cheapest but definitely the best served by very friendly staff great place to have food and a drink while watching the world go by. As a family we have been visiting for the last 10 or so...
