We first ate at Restaurant Rosamar in August 2013 and always said that we'd return. When we first visited we had our first proper paella, the Rosamar special which was a mix of fish, chicken and chorizo; it was excellent. I also recall that the service was also very good 12 years ago.
So we took the opportunity of revisiting Rosamar again when we returned to L'Estartit this October, 2025, when we returned with friends, who have also eaten at Rosamar several times.
So deciding to eat here again was easy. The service was very good and the restaurant was very relaxed, not rushed, not pushy. We enjoyed our evening meal, having starters, mains & desserts accompanied by beers and wine.
Two of us, including myself had the monkfish. A lovely piece of fish served with a rich creamy sauce and Mediterranean vegetables. My wife had the duck which was served in a lovely mixed sauce with strawberries; which on the face of it did seem a little odd but she enjoyed it and it did surprisingly taste very good. The other person in our party had the sardines, his personal favourite.
Our meals were all very good. We had a lovely relaxed evening. We didn't miss having the paella again, but will almost certainly have it when we return the next time.
The service was excellent. The waiter, already known to our friends, was very friendly, bubbly and polite.

They came across as happy to be there and to be of assistance, which is great to see. We only had main courses. I had Sole fish which was cooked beautifully, accompanied by boiled jacket new season potato, grilled tomato, grilled asparagus and grilled courgette, ingredients really complimented each other. The other dishes in the group were chicken on the bone ( enjoyable no complaints) and mixed meat grill in sauce (very enjoyable). Only minor negative was our 2 kids had pizza. They were happy enough but it wasn’t the best quality pizza. I had a try of each and both were slightly doughy. Didn’t ruin anybody’s overall very positive experience of the meal. Wine was nice. Read moreCAT Vaig anar allà a dinar. Era un dissabte de Juliol i per sort vaig trobar taula. Es millor reservar per el que vaig veure, ja que de seguida era ple i no hi havia taules lliures. El menjar molt bo, vaig fer una parrillada de peix i estava molt bo i ben cuinat. Tambe vaig agafar tapes i estaven molt bones tambe. El tracte de la treballadors excelent. I les vistes al port tambe ajuden a estar comode en aquest lloc.
ES Fui allí a comer. Era un sábado de Julio y por suerte encontré mesa. Es mejor reservar por lo que vi, ya que enseguida estaba lleno y no había mesas libres. La comida muy buena, hice una parrillada de pescado y estaba muy buena y bien cocinada. También cogí tapas y estaban muy buenas también. El trato de la trabajadores excelente. Y las vistas al puerto también ayudan a estar cómodo en este sitio.
EN I went there to eat. It was a Saturday in July and luckily I found a table. It is better to reserve from what I saw, since it was quickly full and there were no free tables. The food was very good, I made a grilled fish and it was very good and well cooked. I also had tapas and they were very good too. The treatment of the workers excellent. And the views of the port also help to be comfortable in this place.
FR J'y suis allé pour manger. C'était un samedi de juillet et heureusement j'ai trouvé une table. Il vaut mieux réserver d'après ce que j'ai vu, car c'était vite complet et il n'y avait pas de tables libres. La nourriture était très bonne, j'ai fait un poisson grillé et c'était très bon et bien cuisiné. J'ai aussi eu des tapas et ils étaient très bons aussi. Le traitement des travailleurs excellent. Et les vues sur le port aident aussi à être à l'aise...
