Restaurante Mejicano El Camping — Restaurant in Vélez-Málaga

Stopped in on a whim, on a Sunday around 1400, on the way back from Nerja, for a late lunch. We were seated quickly and ordered the Choriqueso, water and a beer. We asked the waiter to come back in 5 mins because my wife wasn't sure about what she wanted for lunch. Our waiter never came back 😔. Waited for nearly an hour for our Choriqueso.

Needless to say, we never got to order anything else; very disappointing 😕.

I understand that they were busy, but the staff could do a much better job keeping their patrons up to date on their order(s) and asking if they wanted anything else (a beer 🍺? a Margarita 🍸?) while they're waiting for their food.

I'd recommend passing...

After waiting over 30 minutes for our drinks and asking the waiter twice where our drinks were they arrived. People that arrived after us had their food and drinks already. Nobody had even taken our order for food, so after we had our drinks. We paid and left and went to a different Mexican restaurant Tulum where the waiters were extremely friendly and the atmosphere and the food was outstanding. We will definitely not be going back to or recommending Restaurante...

Comida exquisita y restaurante llamativo, calidad excelente y camareros muy atentos y amables. La única pega que le pongo al lugar es la actitud del dueño, pues cuando vamos con nuestra niña pequeña, nos pone pegas de que puede que “no haya sitio para el carro” o “sea complicado acomodarnos por el carro” comentario que se puede ahorrar ya que siempre que vamos y nos sentamos tenemos sitio de sobra para el carro, no entiendo tampoco cómo si uno de los comensales no tolera el picante, haya veces que nos pueda poner la carne a parte y otros días no se pueda (he de recalcar que siempre que hemos ido ha estado el restaurante igual de lleno) y aunque se le explique al hombre le da igual simplemente te responde con un “lo quieres o no” y punto no hay más solución cuando la carne suele estar preparada y se sirve en lo alto, qué más dará ponerlo en un cuenco que en lo alto, pero bueno sigo pensando que este sitio triunfa por su comida, que si por esta actitud fuese, poca gente iría… he de decir que he trabajado bastantes años en hostelería y la actitud es bastante mejorable. Gracias al equipo de camareros que tienen y a los cocineros que también se lo curran día a día y vuelvo a repetir la comida excelente, siempre que voy pido un plato nuevo y ninguno decepciona, calidad/precio se ajusta a los platos y...
