If you come to Valencia, check out the "Castel of tapas". We had a lot of tapas and drinks sufficient to kill the thirst and hunger of three people, and payed just about 45 Euros. My recommendation: If you like spicy food, try the "Patatas infernales".
Inside you can watch soccer games, and when the locals are present, it can be quite loud, which is something you might get used to in Spain anyhow.
When you sit outside, you need to get your drinks yourself and order at the table. Absolutely common, and indicated in written form.
While they understand English, it is much more fun to order in Spanish. The waiters / barkeepers are very nice and will help you with any requests. I will certainly visit again when I return to...

We had 8 tapas dishes, as well as 3 Pepsis and a large beer. The total price was only €41; an absolute bargain! 5 out of 5 stars, easily. I would definitely eat here again and recommend...
Read moreNo es la primera vez que voy, siempre que voy con mis amigos picoteamos guay y lo pasamos bien, pero esta última vez que fuí hubo un gesto del chico de pelo rizado (no se si es el hijo de Alfredo o un empleado) que no me agradó: empezamos a pedir la ronda y todo bien, como siempre. La 1ª ronda un amigo pide lo de todos y Alfredo nos lo trae a la mesa, cuando me acabo lo que estoy tomando le pido otra al chico y me dijo si no se la pagaba en el momento no me la servía, cosa que con los 11 demás que éramos en la mesa no pasó, solo conmigo. (los 2 sabemos el motivo pero no voy a exponerlos aquí, seguramente ya sabrá quien soy) .
Sin pegas pagué lo que consumí y fuera. Luego cuando un amigo de la mesa iba a barra a pedir le pedia que trajese lo mío también para no estar yo pasando la tarjeta 5 o 6 veces por cada cosa que consumía, a él sin problemas lo ponía...
