As an American living in Europe, I tend to stay away from highly rated trip advisor and google restaurants. Got burned in Florence while living in Italy. They usually cater to tourists. My son, his budd, and I came across this place. Looked at the menu and went I . Very happy. The owner sat us, brought his chalk board menu, WITH PRICES, and explained the menu. We chose the fixed menu, based on his recommendation. The three of us received three appetizers, potatoes w a great tomato and cream sauce, whit fish ceviche (OMG), and greens, avacado, and cream cheese wrapped in zucchini w a balsamic reduction and tomato marmalade. I enjoyed them all. He brought our main courses. Chicken w a garlic sauce, breaded veal w a tomato sauce, and frickin amazing pulled pork with a pesto. All were wonderful. The pork did not need a sauce. It was moist and extremely flavorful. I had a glass of wine. We had 4 bottles of water and a digestive. €53. The owner had no problem telling me what was in his tomato marmalade. When I asked about paella, and where the best places to go were, he had no issues guiding me. I cannot speak to burgers, after all, this is Europe, and I don’t order burgers. Open your mind and enjoy a wonderful experience. I apologize for failing to submit a picture of...
Read moreWe had lunch here today. At first the waiter seemed very accommodating and friendly, even offered to open some off menu wines by the glass. The food came out and it was okay. The croquettes were not good. The churros were interesting, the fish was much better than the meat. The ceviche was exceptional, we have eaten a lot of ceviche and not tried an original combination of flavors like that before. Overall, we would have rated the experience somewhere around a 8 because the waiter was nice and the food had a wide range of quality.
When the bill came, however, we saw that the waiter charged us for bottled water that had obviously been filled from the tap. Additionally, the wine is listed on the menu as 2.30€ by the glass and we were charged 3€. It was only about a 3€ overcharge. But an experience like that makes you question what is happening in the kitchen. All things considered, it ruined the experience for us and we would give 4/10. It's a shame bc the place has a lot...
