So disappointed! I was so excited to try this place. We traveled 45 minutes to get here. The restaurant is super cute in a cute setting. However, when you call to reserve you need to let them know what kind of paella you want in advance. We told them we wanted seafood paella. When we got to the restaurant and were seated they never confirmed what kind of paella we ordered. Only thing they said is it would take 30 minutes for them to make it so we ordered a couple tapas. When the paella arrived it was chicken, apparently the traditional paella. When I explained to the server that this was not what we ordered and the fact that I don't eat meat that I'm pescatarian they would not budge. Instead just argued that this is what we ordered. I can understand that there might have been some miscommunication between two languages but the disheartening part is that they were not willing to make it right. So because we are so hungry at this point we went ahead and ordered marisco paella and had to pay for both. One that I could not eat but my husband could and then another marisco paella that I ate but my husband didn't because he was already full. Also, While waiting for our paella, one of the servers went to grab my husband's plate. I tried to explain in what little spanish I know that my husband was still eating and was still using his plate. He could not understand what I was saying nor tried and only continued to take the plate from me after I kept telling him my husband was not done. Lol it was almost comical but he seemed to be upset that I wouldn't let him take my husband's plate. Anyway, the paella was only decent. And it costs us 85 euros for only my husband and I. I would never go back here. Customer service is...
Read moreA group of friends celebrated one of our birthdays here. Unfortunately, part of our party arrived late and the workers were very gracious with this. Their service was good, friendly and quick.
We ordered Paella de Longosta (lobster)and Espardenya. The Espardenya was absolutely lovely, even the Valencians were impressed (it's typical from here).
The Langosta one had generous amount of lobster, meaning it is a bit more expensive. However, it was really quite burnt. In Valencia, they like it to be a little burnt (socarrat) but not to this extent, it just tasted like burnt in some parts. We still ate it but did call the attention of our server to it when asked, and requested if it would be possible for a discount due to this (we left parts that were most burnt). They didn't give a discount, but did give us a free bottle of cava - but unfortunately the birthday girl is pregnant and was unable to partake so wasn't best pleased.
Having said that, I would definitely give it a...
Read moreWe went for lunch today and were so disappointed with everything and felt so cheated that it was so expensive - the pre-ordered rice cost €24 EACH and had so little meat in the lobster and also lacked depth of flavour. It was mostly just empty lobster shells. The waiter we had was incredibly unfriendly and rushed us through the meal and dessert. The “famoso” beer wasn’t good and we didn’t drink them so we wasted our money on that too. The puddings were very average. Whilst the decor is lovely inside I think this restaurant is living off a reputation that is no longer accurate because it was all really disappointing and upsetting to spend so much money on bad food and bad...
