Review: Cal Tito – Perfect for Saltwater Enthusiasts, Not Food Lovers

We had dinner at Cal Tito today, and I must say – I’m impressed. Not by the food, but by how consistently bad the entire experience managed to be.

The service felt like a social experiment: two staff members successfully avoided eye contact for the entire meal. No greeting, no questions, no acknowledgment of our existence. Honestly, it felt like we were testing an invisibility cloak.

And the food? – The mussels tasted like someone had dropped an entire salt shaker into the pot and thought, “Ah well, close enough.” – The sole should’ve stayed in the sea – truly awful. – And €9 for three tomatoes with olive oil? That’s performance art.

The portions were small, which was a relief – less to suffer through.

If you’re thinking of going: skip the restaurant, walk down to the sea, take a sip of saltwater, and stare at the horizon. Same flavor profile, better view, and...

Terrible service, good food.

I've travelled to Vilassar every summer for the past 8 years. After always seeing this restaurant busy, my wife and I decided to eat there for dinner. We booked a table and when we arrived were seated right away. However, the waiter did not take our order for 25 minutes, we did not get so much as a drink. We attempted to order wine 3 times. Our starters came at different times so we ended up sharing what we had. Requests to the waiter went unanswered and I had to get out of my seat to talk to the older waiter (possible owner) only to be told to talk to "my colleague"... The food was good, nothing out of this world, pretty expensive in general. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant as there are many better ones...

Ayer fuimos a comer a Cal Tito, experiencia encontrada. Sitio típico, bonito, en una zona tranquila.

Empezamos por la comida, buena calidad, sencilla y bien preparada, fresca, tomates muy bien, calamares andaluza perfectos y Gallo San Pedro sabroso, especialmente la salsa con ajo... Espectacular.

Servicio un poco "áspero" , nada malo, pero simpatía cero. Es un aspecto a mejorar claramente.

La sorpresa vino en la cuenta,nos trajeron una cuenta de otra mesa, no la nuestra, nos dimos cuenta al llevarla después de pagar, pues trajeron la nota y el terminal a la vez.

A continuación el que parecía el responsable, nos pide la cuenta y ses la lleva , la vuelve a traer ...es ahí cuando la miro y digo...no es la nuestra. Lo comentamos...

Primera sorpresa, se la has llevado y nos la devuelven sin decirnos que no corresponde, y creen que nos dieron la nuestra de nuevo con la diferencia? Noooo, te dice.ñn que hay una diferencia de 5€, ????? Donde esta la cuenta correcta...lo hemos comprobado con la carta en la Mano...y nos guardamos el resultado...

Por no estropear una excelente comida decimos, ponga un postre y ya está...

En definitiva, poca profesionalidad, que obviamente se soluciona fácil. Háganlo bien y de un modo respetuoso con sus clientes y con profesionalidad.
